I finished Buffy season 3 with Meg tonight.

I still love Season 3 Angel. Love him to bits and tiny broody pieces. He loves Buffy so much. The Buffy/Angel love story is truly and deeply epic - it always gets to me, no matter how many times I see it. I just.. I don't know why, but I feel how much they love each other. They're both phenomenal actors (though I admit, Angel is pretty one dimensional in BtVS. He fleshes out a whole lot more on his own show, but that only makes sense) and together they just spark so beautifully. I want to be mad at Angel for leaving but I CAN'T becaue he's RIGHT, you know? That's the beauty of Joss's work (or the torture?) - everything's so COMPLEX. You can't have simple emotions about it all. Oh sigh.

Buffy and Faith's relationship continues to get me right in the gut. There are just such high emotions riding there, and then the dream Buffy has? Where they're all quiet and affectionate and thoughtful? It's such a beautiful, peaceful moment, and a lovely note to send off Faith, for the time being. And then how Buffy kisses Faith's forehead - it's an acknowledgement of all that they share, of all the horror Faith has been through, and that no matter what Faith's done, she's still a victim. I thought that was beautiful and touching. Their relationship is so complex and messed up - full of betrayal on both sides, but they also share the greatest part of who they are.

One of my favorite moments of the whole show is when Jonathan gives Buffy the Class Protector award. It invariably makes me all teary. VALIDATION. For all the shit she's gone through. Absolutely wonderful. And deliciously real, because you KNOW all those people know that crazy shit happens in Sunnydale. You can't act like they wouldn't notice. So Joss takes that and turns it into this absolutely gorgeous, touching moment.

Can you tell I want Joss to have all my babies?

YES! THANK you! Everyone I know who likes Buffy in the slightest is usually "meh" on B/A, but I adore them. Such a tragic, impossible love.

Oh god, I love that moment. It's the Buffy-gets-a-perfect-high-school-moment moment, is it not? =) <3 Guh, there's a reason Season 3's my absolute fave.

Amen to all of this. I think it is interesting to look at how each season ends -- whether she is alone, emotionally alone, or has her core gang with her. And then look at how each proceeding Buffy season begins. These are just some of the things I think about because I'm a huge Buffy nerd.

I've only watched a couple episodes of Angel, and I don't really follow Buffy. I know - I suck, but I do remember watching the first and second seasons of Buffy back when they first aired (that was when... 7, 8 years ago? I have no timeline for this show whatsoever) and loving Buffy/Angel so, so much. :D I really think they were my very first OTP. Back when I didn't even know what an OTP was. I also watched 'I Will Remember You', and it broke my heart.

*Tries not to cry* Oh man, just THINKING about I Will Remember You breaks me rather thoroughly. GOD. So horribly painful. But at the same time, beautiful and sweet and wow they are so much in love. God. *flappyhands* I am reduced to incoherence by one Joss Whedon!

And YES, you do suck! LOL. I really really highly recommend that you rent or buy Buffy season 3. It's by far my favorite season of the show, and so worth it. Buffy/Angel was one of my first OTPs too (after Mulder/Scully) and they've never left my heart. Oh sigh.

I cried like a big mookie baby. But it was sooooooo good. How could I have made it this far in my life, become who I am today without seeing all of season 3 before? Joss is just about the closest thing to a god that I recodnize. He is so awesome. I vote that he gets his own studio and every passing thought he has is used in a show or movie or...

I'm so happy you enjoyed it, although how could you not? It's a very good thing we got around to watching this, because your life was utterly incomplete before. Your life is split in two parts - Before BtVS S3 (BB3) and After BtVS S3 (AB3). AB3 is a much happier time ;)

Joss kind of wins at life. We should send him a trophy. "JOSS WHEDON. WINNER OF LIFE. AND NOT THE BOARD GAME, THE REAL ONE."
