"Here's hoping history repeats itself."

Eeeeee Farscape! Eeeeee John and Aeryn! I've finished the first season and watched the second season premiere :D

This show gives me so much joy!! *hops up and down in place* From Aeryn's connection to Talyn, to Chiana being awesome and adorable, to John and D'Argo's selfless bid for their shipmates' freedom, to Crais finally becoming interesting and FINALLY BRUSHING HIS HAIR OMG, to Scorpius as a new creepy awesome villain, to JOHN AND AERYN FALLING IN LOVE - I've enjoyed every second so far, and I can tell it's only going to get better and better and better :D

Most importantly, of course... John and Aeryn. I mean. LOOK AT THEM!

*swoons and makes incoherent noises of love*

Okay. Okay. Trying to actually say things here. I absolutely love how their relationship has been handled. There have been no huge declarations of love, no overblown emotional scenes - instead, their love has developed quietly, naturally... believably. Every conversation they have feels impossibly intimate, whether they're talking about their parents or a plan to save Talyn. They gravitate towards each other, physically and emotionally. And there's no attempt of denial on either of their parts, no rejection of the attraction they obviously feel, no strange need to keep themselves miserable - they're caught in a rather frightening situtaion, far away from both of their homes, and they're not pushing away this kernel of happiness they've somehow, miraculously found. It feels like how Mulder and Scully SHOULD have gone, yaknow? UST is great, sure, but 7-odd years is a bit long to drag it out. I much prefer this style *g* There's no jealousy, no anger, no bitterness between them - even when Aeryn strikes the deal with Crais, John is bewildered and hurt, but he doesn't really blame her... he simply pulls her aside for the most adorable conversation ever:

John: And how many times have we been close?
Aeryn: (embarassed, glancing at D'Argo, whispering) Just the once.
John: (surprised and quickly correcting her) No no no, not that kind of close...
Aeryn: (loudly) Oh! You mean "friend" close.
John: (awkward and amused) Yes.

salsdfksjdfl *flail flail* THEY KILL ME WITH THE CUTE. But my original point was that he just tries to talk to her, on the level, and it's so sweet. He's frustrated with what she had to do, but he comes to understand it, and doesn't truly blame her, forgives her for what she had to do, immediately. And then the end! Oh the end. With John playing with her hair and then her leaning back into the circle of his arms, and just how comfortable they are together, and how it's completely understated, just a fact of how they relate to each other - it's simply perfect. Perfect perfect perfect. Obviously they're going to hit bumps in the road, but... it's always going to come back to the fact that they love each other.

Ohmyheart.

I really, really love this show, and I can't wait to dive into the second season!! :D

*wibbles* I've been trying so hard to contain myself and not flail incoherently at you because it is so hard for me to say not-spoilery things, and you have to see it. Oh, God, you're gonna love it. Farscape is one of the only shows to consistently get UST right. They are so the most OTP ever, I don't even have words.

But the thing is, it's not UST! At least not how I see it. They're not going around having all this beautiful tension and not DOING anything about it. Instead they are openly affectionate with each other, risk other things to save each other, and I just... it's not unresolved, it's very much addressed by both of them in an extremely satisfying way. And that's what I love about it :)

Huh. That's true. I've always thought of them as a UST pairing, probably because I feel about them the way I feel about most of my UST pairings, but you're right that the way they feel about each other is never in doubt. They do deal with their emotions believably, wherease many television characters would ignore those emotions for the sake of the DRAMA. I hear you on X-Files, where it seemed like Mulder and Scully were kept apart for no reason other than to torture us.

Enjoy the second season!

GOD. BEST HET OTP OF ALL TIME. THE-FUCKING-END.

i have no shift key, anne. but trust me when i say to you that it is the ONLY on-screen romantic relationship i have EVER SEEN that is drawn out with continued tension and awesomeness and, yes, BELIEVABILITY and never, ever gets stale or old or overdone. they did this shit RIGHT.

it is HET and it is CANON and yet i am still all over it. that's how you can tell.

GOD, MONA. GOD. I CAN'T EVEN. I can't believe I have three more seasons plus a miniseries to look forward to of this! IT GIVES ME JOY! :D:D:D

And yes, your endorsement was totally enough to make me sit up and take notice. Seeing as we SHARE A BRAIN and all. And you certainly did not steer me wrong :D:D

I knew you would love it.

You'll love this - when Claudia signed on to do SG-1 as a recurring, it was before Ben came aboard. Claudia's character was set up with Daniel as an ongoing flirtation/whatever. Claudia, in an interview, commented that she felt like she was cheating on Ben....... cracked me up.

*hugs*

Awwwwwww, that's adorable! :D They are just too cute for words.

I neeeeeed to watch this show! I feel like I kind of follow you around a bit in fandom, heehee. But I'm just watching season 10 of SG-1 (only season I could easily get my hands on right now and am liking it lots btw) and these two are in it and they are fab. So, of course I need to check them out in Farscape too. And seeing your posts about them just makes me all bouncy and excited and I haven't seen a single episode of yet!!!

Hee! I am told that my enthusiasm for shows is infectious :D I often bring people down the rabbit hole with me! I'm a little late to the party on this one, but it's DEFINITELY worth a look :D My friend is burning some SG-1 episodes and sending them to me soon, so I'll be getting a little (hopefully not a lot - 10 seasons omgwtf) into that soon too! I have seen a few episodes and Vala is just the most adorable thing ever. And the complete opposite of Aeryn! Claudia Black is just made of awesome :)
