I don't think white voters have gotten this memo about the Bradley Effect

Today we'll go with one AWESOME and one HILARIOUS.

First: Bill Clinton stumping for Obama in Florida. (Side note: you know I've been reading too many political blogs and articles when I start using the lingo that sounded RIDICULOUS to me not a month ago. I mean, stumping? Really?)

He re-sells Obama in a fresh and exciting way. I know I've gotten a little tired of the canned Obama lines (which is why the Ohio speech was so great - I want to hug the Sam-Seaborn-equivalent who wrote that!) so Bill Clinton speaking forcefully and passionately about WHY OBAMA IS AWESOME is really exciting and invigorating. My favorite part is when Clinton says that Obama can make decisions, and punctuates it with "yes he can!" the crowd immediately launches into a chant of "YES HE CAN YES HE CAN" that takes a little while for Clinton to calm down. Hee!

Second: Obama on Jon Stewart! (Embedding disabled, boo) He veers briefly into a list of talking points, but quickly brings it back to LOLARIOUS, and oh man. He makes Jon giggle twice! I am so pleased!

The state polls continue to look marvelous. He's resolidified a double-digit lead in PA, which is essentially all he needs to do. As icing on the cake, Arizona is down in the VERY low single digits, like, within the margin of error, which I find kind of hilarious. I would love Obama to win AZ if only for the symbolic power (that's where McCain's Senator, for anyone unaware). CO and VA remain very solid, and OH's even looking better and better.

Five days!

I lurve your icon...so cute! My uncle, who is usually a hard-core Republican, is actually thinking of voting Obama because of hie environmental policy. I thought I'd never see the day! I've been avoiding all the political message boards...there's always that one crazy Obama-hater, and it just makes me sick I get so mad. But I enjoy your little highlights. How's everything going, by the way?

I just wanted to say, I love your political posts. They keep me informed when I don't have time to constantly be on the sites myself. Living out of the country kind of makes me detached from the political world of the USA, but don't worry - I have already sent in my absentee ballot! Every vote for Obama counts!!

So, thanks for keeping me (all of us, whatever) updated! :)

Your posts make me SO EXCITED.

I was clutching a newspaper in our Humanities building café earlier because I really wanted to read it and read the election analysis but I also wanted to make sure I was taking care of my ill friend.

So I took care of her while cuddling my newspaper, and then when she'd gone I sprinted home to lie on my bed and read it in-depth with a cup of tea.

OH. MY. GOD.

From all the way over here in Wales, I'm holding your hand. xxxxxxx
