My old soccer coach just emailed me to tell me that my old teammate's dad just passed away this morning.

I was never on the best of terms with her, but god. I can't... I can't even imagine that. She's only 17/18, and her sister's only 15... they have two older brothers as well. It is the most terrible thing to lose a father that young.

I'd appreciate it if your thoughts were with her.

That's awful, I'm truly sorry to hear about it. I understand how you're feeling... when we were around 16 the father of one of my friends was murdered, and it's one of the worst things I think for anyone to go through. *hug*

I'm so sorry for her, I'll be thinking of her, my friend lost her father (no warning at all) when she was 17 and her sister was 15, she also had an 8 year old brother with Downs, I have no idea how they coped, but I recently saw Liz and Edward and they were so happy and doing so well, so it's possible to get through this. She is definitely in my thoughts.

I appreciate that, thank you. It's good to know that people can come out intact from an experience like that... though I'm sure it doesn't feel like that at the time. I'm glad your friend and her family are okay.

Oh no, those poor friends of yours. God. I lost my mother when I was just a little bit older than them and it was just hell. My thoughts and sympathy goes out to them and to you, it's hard on friends too. *hugs*
