I just went to see The Fountain!
I really, really enjoyed it. Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz (whom I LOVE like whoa) both turned in incredible performances - I was captivated the whole way through. The visuals were STUNNING, and the motifs through the three different locales were beautiful (like the lights in the surgery prep room closely resembling a scattering of stars, and ditto with the lanterns in the queen's chamber). The effects were amazing, and not too bombastic. The film never lost me, despite the disjointed, disordered structure - I thought it was very coherent while at the same time making you go Whooooooa a whole lot. It definitely made me cry once, and yanked at my heartstrings a lot more than that. I just thought it was a beautiful, haunting, thought provoking movie that I definitely want to see again at some point. Absolutely beautiful.
Definitely two thumbs up. Go see this movie!

I just got home from seeing it and am still reeling. I have to somehow write a 300-word critique of it. My head is positively swimming. How do you capture that in words?
