(no subject)

Did y'all know that there's a current NASA space shuttle called ATLANTIS? Yup! :D It gives me giddy glee every time I see a bit of news about it.

Here's a really nifty photo of it catching a piggyback ride on a Boeing 747! How cool!

Time to make myself some nummy chicken for dinner :D

ETA: David Hewlett just posted that 1) A Dog's Breakfast is available on iTunes, and 2) there's going to be an international release. SQUEE! However, I'm looking all over iTunes and I cannot for the life of me find it :( Has anyone else been able to find it?

Hee! I fully thought of Stargate Atlantis when I saw that on the news with Mummy. (see? Already I'm getting converted & my DVDs haven't even arrived yet!)

Atlantis was one of the five original space shuttles, so it's been around for quite some time.

As for the iTunes download, some of the folks on David's blog have reported having trouble getting the film because of an apparent server overload. Looks like Mars was more popular than we thought. Check the iTunes Store under Movies and see if it comes up. You may have to look for it by David's name instead of the film title. I'd offer to search, but being a Linux enthusiast I don't even have it installed on this computer.

Haha, wow, now I feel really dumb. I'm definitely not as up on current things as I probably should be :-/ Thanks for telling me :)

Oh wow, us fangirls and boys are quite the force, aren't we! I already tried searching by his name and everything i could think of. I'll just wait until the mad feeding frenzy subsides :)

It's not dumb at all. I only remember it because I was around 8 or 9 when the shuttle program began (I think - I'd have to check to be sure).

Give iTunes a few hours, then check back. Once the furor goes down, you'll probably have better luck.

...What is this Dog's Breakfast of which you speak?

Also, I haven't been watching SGA because I've been reading fic. This is (A) bad and (B) backwards, yes? I do plan to watch another one tonight.

A Dog's Breakfast is David Hewlett's movie, which he shot for $120,000 using Stargate filming equipment, and which co-stars himself, his sister Kate Hewlett who is in S3 of Atlantis, Paul McGillion who plays Dr Beckett on Atlantis, and Christopher Judge who plays Teal'c on SG-1. It's going to be AWESOME and I can't wait to get my hands on it in some way or another :D

*laughs* You're cute. And no, it's not particularly backwards, not in this fandom. Once you understand the premise, the fic is almost better. But I say almost, because in canon you have David and Joe and as awesome as the fic is, it can't convey their pure physical awesomeness in every way :D

re: Atlantis space shuttle - that's hysterical! Do you think the NASA dudes in charge of naming shit are fanboys or what?

here (http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewMovie?id=256295676&s=143441)'s the link to Dog's Breakfast. I can't decide if I should buy it on iTunes or pre-order the DVD on Amazon.

I bought it on iTunes because I would have to wait until 2008 to get the DVD, and then I'd be getting hte international version, and just - no. I'll get the US DVD when I return to the states next year, because the extras are going to be AWESOME, but I wanted to see it! I've seen about half of it now and it's HILARIOUS :D:D

Ah right, I forgot - furriner.

Also, icon love (for the "eleventy billion wraith" one - still not on the Ocean's bandwagon, sadly).

Well, I'm not a foreigner, but I'm going to be - I'm studying in Ireland from September to June.

Hee, I love the eleventy billion wraith icon, it makes me giggle. And dude, the Ocean's bandwagon is SO FUN! I was just rewatching Eleven. What are you waiting for??
