NEW LAYOUT! \o/

I got a little tired of the last header (as I always do) so I made a new one - this time with Sam, Dean (what, you thought I'd get rid of the boys?) and FAITH. Or really, Eliza, but we're pretending she's Faith in this context. I really liked the icon I made with almost the same pictures, so I decided to blow it up :) It's quite a bit darker than the last layout, but I tried to keep it as light as I could. I wanted so badly to use the gorgeous red from Dean's shirt somewhere in the color scheme, but with the green it just looked too Christmasy (damn Christmas for forever ruining that color combination for me! They go so well together, but I just can't use it! *headdesk*) so I settled for dark brown. I'm really happy with how it turned out! The header came out just as edgy and sexy and mysterious as I wanted it to. Woo!

The lyrics on the header are from the wonderful song Lover I Don't Have to Love by Bright Eyes

(On a side note, I'm getting kind of tired of this Flexi squares layout. I mean it's awesome and I love how I've customized it, but I think I'm ready for a change. However, I don't know how to begin going about that! I signed up for the_lj_reboot but I'm just... lost. Any very basic advice on how to BEGIN customizing all the general codes out there would be very welcome.)

i like the header a lot, the blending is really, really nice and the text works well. very pretty. :)
the only thing is, like you said, it's dark. (especially the dark green for the entry boxes makes it quite dark for me. i always prefer dark font color on a lighter background for lots of text, but that's me and my contact lenses ;)

I remember you saying something similar for one of my past layouts, but no one else has said anything - it might be a combination of your contacts and your screen. I tried a light color for the entries, but the whole thing felt too light then and jarred with the darkness of the header. So I inverted it! Sorry if it isn't ideal for you love, but you won't spend much time looking at my layout anyway :)

oh, i didn't mean to complain! as beautiful as your header is, i really won't spend much time in your journal, so it's not a problem for me. was merely expressing personal prefernce here ;) after some pretty dark phases i just started to keep my layouts as light as possible, i guess. so don't mind me ;)
