A Year of Supernatural - Told in Numbers

So exactly one year ago today, I curled up on my bed with my laptop and watched the pilot of a certain show called Supernatural. My reaction? "Wow. Wowwwwww. Wow!" In the ensuing year, I have been entirely swept up by the Winchester brothers, right along with many other fangirls, and much has happened and been created as a result! I thought to commemorate this anniversary I'd do a numerical walk down memory lane. Let us begin with...

• 31 episodes aired - from Pilot to Croatoan, Home to Devil's Trap, Nightmare to Bloodlust, so many chapters in the lives of the Winchester brothers have been given to us. And boy have they grown. Compare the uneasy tension of much of the pilot to the perfect teamwork and connection of Croatoan - they've certainly come a long way. And we've loved (almost) every second of it.

• Countless wonderful friends made - This fandom has been the most welcoming, warm, and joyful one that I have had the privilege of being involved in. All of my wonderful new friends are thanks to this fandom, and I brought almost all my old friends into the fray with me, so it's just one gleeful party!
  
  
• 188 LJ users and comms on my SPN reading filter - At first I split my filters into "People" and "Supernatural", then I realized I was ONLY reading Supernatural and gave up, switching some important people from old fandoms into this filter and then reading it exclusively. I never tire of people talking about the Winchester boys. How could I?
  
  
• 1,309 LJ posts memoried - That number got into the many hundreds this summer so I finally caved and organized them into many specific categories. The most entries I've got for ANY other fandom is 41, for Harry Potter. I never read fic seriously before this fandom, so that's a big part of it. • 15.7 GB of hard drive space taken up - All the above plus avi files of episodes. That's a LOT of space, hee.
  
  
• One Winchester Con experienced - That was, hands down, the best weekend of my life. It was everything I could have hoped for. Five straight days of pure, giddy joy with people I love. Plus, I got drunk for the first time! *laughs* I discovered the amazingness that is Lindsay and Rachel, reaffirmed my acres of love for many other people, and just had the time of my LIFE. I love you all, especially my road trip buddies - I can't thank you enough for absolutely making my year.
  
  
  
  • 1,600 miles covered (Lancaster to Nashville and back) - This included four hours of driving into the wee hours of the morning (read: 3 AM) on my part - and we didn't die! SCORE! Seriously, what a fun road trip. So much love.
    
  
  
  
• One music video made - My "Blind" video took months to complete, but it premiered at Wincon, to a great response, and I am so proud of it. It's my ode to the Winchester boys!
  
  
• 272 icons made - That number surprised me - I didn't realize how much I did before I totally slowed down. I need to get back into the iconning groove!
  
  
• 6 fic(let)s written - I PORNED for this fandom. That's how much it owns me. Shower porn, no less! And I'm working on the college AU sequel, don't worry! *g*
  
  
• One best friend converted - So now I squeal with Michelle! It's been so nice having a watching companion, and sharing this happiness with her.
  
  
  
• Zillions of wonderful memories, and many more to come
