Supernatural, the pilot!
I finally watched the pilot for Supernatural! EEK.
Wow. Wowwwwww. Wow! I'm in tears here, even though I knew what was going to happen! This was perfect, with the snarky awesome brotherly relationship, the drama, the entire thing. I already knew I liked the show, I've seen several episodes, but this has just cemented it. I've had it on my computer for a while, but was prompted to finally watch it when I saw the episode about Bloody Mary on TV tonight.
For one thing, of course, I love the brothers. I'm particularly partial to that dynamic right now, being madly in love as I am with the Boondock boys. They have the same thing - the playful competition, the occasional smacking around, the tenderness that shines through when it really matters, that connection that just places them on an entirely separate level. I'm not sure I could slash them as readily as I slash the MacManus brothers, simply because Sam was so in love with Jess, and I respect that. But I do adore their relationship.
I generally am not a fan of horror movies, which is why I was slightly leery of this show at first - but I have to say I love what they do with the scary factor. In the first ep, the woman in white - I am so entranced by how she moved, the jerkiness almost like she was shorting out. Especially when she's walking to the bottom of the staircase, how it's in fits and starts. And then the way she exploded at the end, was just so... gripping and awesome, and not cheesy (like the charmed deaths are, oy *shakes head*) in the slightest. I get genuinely scared, but it's not in a bad way. It's in a fun way. And then there are the pretty boys to make me feel all better again.
Umm, in conclusion, LOVE! (
ringwench, you are so proud of me right now. I'm even listening to Matthew Good Band, and really enjoying it! This night is dedicated to you, darlin ;))
ETA: I realized that I used a Boondocks icon on this post, when I clearly had a Supernatural icon uploaded. Um. Yes, I have a single track mind, thx.

However, I did the opposite of what you did. Watched the pilot, enjoyed it, and then went back to my other shows.

Did you ever see the home episode?
And oddly enough I avoid horror movies like they are a disease.

Now, I actually thought that I'd love Supernatural for the exact same brotherly love thing. But it wasn't that obvious in the first ep. Plus, I am actually quite a sucker for the supernatural ganre (ie X-Files). I think I definitely need to see a couple more before I make up my mind about this show. Because I truly want to love it... But I can't seem to find ep 2!!

The dynamic between Dean and Sam is definitely the best thing about an already seriously kickass show. About the whole slashing thing, I'm kinda on the fence about that too. I mean, don't get me wrong, I LOVE the slashiness of the show and I love any little moments the brothers share (like the hot eyefucks, the declarations of their willingness to die for one other, and any physical contact), but I don't think I'd want it to go as far as them fucking each other (though I am getting into reading Jared/Jensen RPS, because the two of them together is like the hottest thing ever!), even though the show makes it kinda difficult to NOT slash them! Come to think of it, in pretty much any slash pairing I enjoy, I'm much more interested in the dynamic between the two characters than the idea of them actually fucking each other. I guess I'm just weird like that ;-)
Yeah, so in conclusion, Supernatural rocks like a rocking thing.
Also, I'm SO glad you're liking Matt Good (if you wanted me to, say, upload another album or two for you I would have *zero* problems with doing that ;-))!
