ps. They're kidding, right? I mean, technically they just risked 2/3rds of something and only got 1/3 because of circumstances already established!
I was seriously going to make a post like this with the subject line 'dear Torchwood' and the body of the post a caret that points at my current icon, but this works equally well :D
You know, IT DOESN'T REALLY MAKE SENSE. 1. There was no compelling reason Ianto had to be there with him except so they could be all cute and in unison and snarky. 2. What kind of show kills 3 of its 5 main characters?!? and 3. They accomplished NOTHING, and I'm not sure what else they expected, dammit. I mean sure, bravado is great, but ONLY SEND IN THE GUY WHO CAN'T DIE PLEASE.
This is so disappointing after 3.9 incredibly good episodes of storytelling. Character death is just such an incredibly cheap way to achieve shock and drama, which they were already DOING without killing Ianto! I mean come on. He HAS to come back. He has to!
...right? :(
ETA: Oh btw would you like to know the irony that's breaking my heart? Right before I watched the episode I found the promo pictures of Jack and Ianto which are FUCKING BEAUTIFUL and started making a header that says "fixed point in time and space". HahahahahSOB. D:
I''ve seen people saying that, I'm so glad I avoided said rumors! I would have been SO ANGRY at the whole series already, and I wouldn't ahve wanted to be, it was so good! (UNTIL NOW ARGH)
Don't saaaaaaaaay that omg. I don't think it makes sense for him to die! THey can't have the team be just Jack and Gwen, it makes no storytelling sense at all. My best friend suggests that if Ianto stays dead, it probably means Torchwood is canceled, which, AUGH. FIX IT!!!
I know right? I was enjoying it SO MUCH up until now. WHY TW WHY?
Ugh, idk. I mean the whole Jack/Gwen UST thing didn't make any sense either and they've kept it up for quite some time. And also, I sort of thought this five-parter was the last YAY on TW anyway? I didn't keep up with all the news apparently.
I just have the sneaking suspicion that next episode they'll off Rhys too just so there's pregnant widow!Gwen and maybe Jack going missing and dead Ianto and DOOM AND GLOOM.
DISFUCKINGLIKE. I MEAN SERIOUSLY WHAT THE EVER LOVING FUCK. I AM SO ANGRY RIGHT NOW ANNE. SO VERY VERY ANGRY. And now I have to go do science. ANGRY SCIENCE.

But that said, it's the Whoniverse. They never leave an apocalypse-on-Earth in place.

2) I couldn't even watch it last night. I don't think I will unless I know that he magically comes back because this. is. BULLSHIT.

...I kind of have that sinking feeling that there will be no fix.

2) TOTAL BULLSHIT. Screw you, RTD. SCREW YOU. There are other ways of introducing drama other than MAIN CHARACTER DEATH.
