Dear Torchwood,

I reject your proposal. Needs extensive edits.

Sincerely,
Me

I just spent over an hour downloading most of the new installment of Torchwood. It was 88% done. I forgot to plug in my computer, so it went to sleep, halting the download. I just started a new one - 7 hours 38 minutes remaining.

FML.

Torchwood is being AWESOMESAUCE. A few comments )

It just turned midnight and I'm actually tired! I think I'm adjusting pretty well to this normal person sleep schedule. Today was very successful - I did my first science in graduate school (omgggg) and it worked very well! It was just a simple beginning of a peptide synthesis, but I've never done it before and it uses a nifty machine and I did it all on my own after being showed once, and it worked! \o/ The girl who was teaching me is really cool - her name's Ashley, she's in her fourth year, and she's just really awesome, helpful and laid back. I like the people in my lab, generally! A good balance of male and female (maybe even more girls), and people are very helpful and friendly, if not the most talkative of folks. I definitely made the right choice of lab. :)

There was a bit of a hiccup when my first bus coming home was late by 6 minutes, so I missed my connection (no bus goes straight from one side of downtown to the other, so I need to get on one bus for literally five minutes, then get off and switch *hands*) and had to take a different route which left me with a 15 minute walk to get home. But then I went out for a run, for the first time in a VERY long time, and even though it was painful it felt like a really good start to something, like I might actually be able to keep it up. I'm really quite unhappy with my weight right now. I was looking at pictures from a couple years ago (even just in Dublin) and I look so much rounder now. Not that I was ever skinny, but. So yeah, I need to slim down, and I figure the summer's the best time to do it, when the weather's pleasant for running and I don't need to make the time to get to a gym.

Oh man, I'm actually sleepy! So with that I bid you goodnight, my dear flist. ♥

Oh my God, Torchwood.

MAJOR spoilers for the S2 finale )
exsequar: (FNL Taylors glee)
1. NEW X-FILES MOOOOVIE! BWEEEEE! The footage from Wondercon is fantastic - David and Gillian look radiant! (Scroll back through [livejournal.com profile] xfiles to see everything) I didn't manage to see the trailer when it was leaked, but I hope something will surface soon. I also saw spoilery shots from the set and all I can say is - EEEEE! :D

2. FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS GOT PICKED UP FOR S3!!!!!! This is the best TV news possible - I was utterly convinced that 2x15 was the last episode ever, and while that wouldn't have been the WORST place to stop... I want moooore! And I'm gonna get iiiit! :D:D:D YAY MORE TAYLORS! And Timmy and Matt and Tyra and Landry and Smash and Street and EVERYONE! YAYE!

3. Torchwood was fun this week, but I kind of had issues with it. I wish I didn't hate the Powers That Be's favorite character (that is, Gwen) D: MOAR IANTO PLZ.

4. I just watched Stardust and... HAHAHAHA. So. Much. Crack! Though I must say, it improved in quality immensely when the main character stopped being a douchebag and got a makeover by a gay pirate that included sexy long hair, swashbuckling skills, and floofy sleeves. THUMBS UP! Claire Danes was darling once she stopped being a cranky biatch. And Michelle Pfeiffer was awesome. Robert De Niro... I have no words. WIN. One curiosity - IMDB tells me that David Walliams played one of the dead brothers, but I didn't recognize him at ALL. Which one was he??

5. Ummmm right, I have a real life that is not TV or movies! So tomorrow is the last day of term, which is actually depressing because this term has been fucking AMAZING. I love most of my classes, my schedule actually was really nice, I didn't have LAB so I had zero work to do except attending lectures and maybe studying occasionally, I was able to go out once or twice a week with my awesome friends, and it was just a really charmed period. Now I have March break, which is going to be INSANE but AMAZING (Bestie in a week! Daddy and sis after that! [livejournal.com profile] nebulein and Germany after that! Five birthday parties in the midst of all that! St Patrick's Day in Dublin! OMG!) but then I start... the last term. Which is short, and will be fraught with lab reports and frantic studying for the epic and terrifying end of year exams, which I am predicting means much less revelry and hanging out with my beautiful friends, and much more stress D: Oh dear. I don't wanna! And I don't wanna leave my city! Siiiigh. But! I have three weeks before that sets in, so I am going to enjoy it!

Toodles!
exsequar: ((TW) Barrowman thumbs up!)
So I have left my beautiful [livejournal.com profile] the5thmarauder, sadly. We had a brilliant time, I'm so so so glad we finally got to hang out, after knowing each other for many years! Hopefully she'll be able to make it over to Dublin before I depart for the States. I saw the lovely Cardiff and got Rach into Mikeyway and Timmy Riggins, and she introduced me to Noel and Russell, and basically there was much joy and love. \o/ Rach is made of ridiculous amounts of awesome, and I only bemoan that we cannot fangirl together ALL THE TIME. Love you, bb ♥

My sad parting from her was made less sad by the fact that I now have a ROBIN AND A MEL AND A JULES. You guys, fangirls are the best. We got to Robin's house and started watching this year's Big Fat Quiz, squeeing and laughing and awwwing over Noel and Russell because they are darling. We had also picked up alcohol on the way home and I ended up getting, um, really drunk on Magners, vodka and lemonade, and peach Archers Aqua schnapps. Oh my god. It smelled like PEACHIE-O's, and tasted only a little less fantastic, and was pretty much delicious. Robin and I finished off the entire bottle rather too fast. I can't remember the last time I was that drunk, it was pretty fabulous. Robin and I passed out in the middle of Atlantis, much to Mel's disappointment, and we stumbled up to bed shortly after, getting to sleep around 12:30, it was kind of insane. So much fun, and a most auspicious beginning to our days together. Then, this morning, we picked up a [livejournal.com profile] schneestern at Heathrow, and our fangirl harem is complete! :D Much good times are going to ensue, I can tell.

In fandom news... NEW PANIC! SONG. It's adorable, IMO. Cheesy and ridiculous but ADORABLE. I heart their stupid little faces. And wow, Abbey Road Studios? That's amazing, I'm so proud of them. I can't wait for this damn album!

Cobra's new video is so clever and brilliant and hilarious, just like them. Oh, Cobras <333

But my favorite bit of fandom news is OMG NEW TORCHWOOD TRAILER!!!!! A whole minute long and and and Spoilers, but TRUST ME YOU WANT TO KNOW. ) Is it Jan 16th yet?????? Eeeeee.

Also, new Atlantis on Friday! YAYE.

I love fandom and fangirls, you guys. I'm so full of squishy glee right now. LOVE YOU ALL! <33333

Ooooooo.

Hey guys guess what! Captain Jack Harkness has a superpower! The magical color-changing shirt!

Seriously, check it out, in the end of the latest Dr Who (Utopia), after he gets out of the radiation chamber, his shirt magically changes colors and styles! It's quite astonishing. Man. I knew this guy was perfect. *swoons*
exsequar: (SN Sam it's SAM bitch!)
Another GIP, because It's SAM, motherfuckers. *beams*

Man, I stayed up WAY TOO LATE last night. This is not good as I start classes in four days *facepalm* But my god, so worth it - I was rewatching and flailing and then rewatching some more. *squees into fists* SO MUCH LOVE!

I need to make an effort not to watch the promos a trillion times before a new episode airs, because when I do, it makes the lines in them fall really flat during the episode because I've seen them a thousand times. *annoyed at self*

I'm signed up to do the dudemeter for this ep, hee - off to do that!

And on a completely unrelated note (well, except, GAY. lol) this is parts of an IM between Jack and Ianto found on torchwood.org, and I just wanted to have it somewhere where I could find it easily and giggle a lot. Oh BOYS.

Jack: Ianto?

Ianto: Captain

Jack: The others have gone. I thought you were coming up? :-)

Jack: God, did I just use a smiley? I really am going native.

Ianto: LOL. B wid u in 5mins, m8. Lking 4wrd 2 it.

Jack: Haha.

........ (serious conversation blahblah)

Jack: Good. See you in a minute?

Ianto: On my way.

Jack: Oh yeah, forgot to say. Loving you in that suit. The Cute Suit.

Ianto: Thank you sir but it's probably best if I do the rhymes.

Remember the poll I had ya'll fill out? Well you certainly came through, and I had more things than I could fit in the icon and keep it within LJ size limits! Here's the result - I think it's fun, and I hope you all like it too :D

And speaking of icons, I just posted a large batch (84 icons) of Torchwood, Supernatural, and misc. fandom icons. Go ahead and check them out! I'm so pleased at the response already. Yay!

And my dad just took me out to teach me better how to drive the stick shift - and it was very successful! I went on the highway, on a bunch of back roads, and only stalled twice in about a half hour of driving all over the place. YAY! The upshot? I KNOW HOW TO DRIVE MY OWN CAR! Heeeee. YAY. The keys are now officially MINE and I am so JOYFUL :D

Now I'm going to go watch ELAC with my lil sis, so she can be caught up by Thursday! :D
