What an interesting day.

I LOST MY IPOD! D: I think it was in my purse when I went out last night, and... it wasn't when I got home. Stolen? Fallen out? Who knows, but gone. :((((( I had a 30 GB 5G, and it was PERFECT for me, functional and big enough with no bells and whistles. Now my options are a stupid iPod touch that's tiny AND expensive (I don't need that huge screen! JUST GIMME MY MUSIC) or an also tiny and still expensive Nano, or an ENORMOUS and correspondingly EXPENSIVE Classic. AUGH DNW!!!! I'm so angry at myself. Why didn't I just take it out of my purse before I went to the bar?! ARGH.

Because I was looking for my iPod, I was late leaving to pick up [livejournal.com profile] angel726 for the Cobra meet and greet, so I was speeding. AND I GOT A SPEEDING TICKET! Making me LATER, hahahaha! ///o\\\ The cop caught me doing 83 in a 70... oops? He took pity (also probably saw I've never gotten a ticket before) and only smacked me with doing 75 in a 70, but now I have to show up to court in DETROIT and FML.

So basically, today cost me roughly $300 in the long run. AWESOME. /o\ At least I just got paid? :D?

The Cobra show (which was really a Boys Like Girls show, wut) was FILLED with people in black and neon pink or neon cyan. I felt seriously weird in my distressed red tee. Meet and Greet was kind of awkward, and Gabe-less (too sick? Ryland said hungover, but I couldn't tell if he was yanking my chain!), but still very nice. Ryland is tall! And lovely! I told him I got a speeding ticket and he said he was just glad I made it there alive, lolol. It was such an awkward setup and I didn't have anything to say really so I didn't talk to Suarez or Nate much. I did tell VickyT her jacket was AWESOME, because it was a military style deal very reminiscent of Black Parade. Then we got our photo and hustled on our way. I yawned my way through Versa Emerge, The Rocket... something? what?, and The Maine, and then it was Cobras!! Who were awesome and exciting, but the lighting was so shitty. The theme: "Let's Not Light The Performers!" Uhhkay. Whatever, Cobras, awesome, fangs up!

Then we left, because hahaha Boys Like Girls? No.

And now I am exhausted and in bed and watching White Collar. I have plans to see The Men Who Stare At Goats with Dave tomorrow, YAY. Aaaand scene.

So I downloaded my preorder of Hot Mess (YAY!!!!!) and can I just say that the album version of Pete Wentz is the Only Reason We're Famous is kind of... horrible? It's slowed down, mellowed out, and has completely and entirely lost all of its life. I just suffered through it once and I'm never listening to that version again - it's the originally released single for me! I love that one SO MUCH, and this new version is just..... YAWN. How sad!!!

However, I love this album A LOT A LOT A LOT! A lot more than Viva, which isn't bad so much as just not up my alley at all. I'm still tending towards their more guitar-driven stuff, which happily there's a lot more of on this album. I think my favorite song is Fold Your Hands Child - it's terribly pretty, and gets stuck in my head a lot. I also love Living in the Sky With Diamonds - again with the softer and so, so pretty. Though is anyone else thrown by "she's dancing with the stars" - reality TV shoutout anyone? Not to mention the Beatles in the title? O.o Idek! Hot Mess is tons of fun and also gets stuck in my head ALL THE TIME, and I enjoy Nice Guys Finish Last as a song a whole lot even if I find the message rather repugnant. I bet it's ironic though, since look at Good Girls and what they did for that video. The most fun dancey one is Move Like You Gonna Die, I think. Basically I love the entire album and I am so pleased! YAY COBRAS!!

I would like to wish the happiest of birthdays to my dear [livejournal.com profile] pencil_tricks! I hope it was a good one hon. ♥

So I just watched the first episode of Freaks & Geeks! I got it from Netflix after someone told me that John Francis Daly, aka the weirdly darling Sweets on Bones, was one of the main characters. I've meant to see it for a long time anyway. And omg LOVE. It's so incredible to see all these actors that I know and like as young awkward teens! I think my favorite is Jason Segel - he has the same bearing to himself, the same warmth in his eyes, and I'm just really drawn to him and his humor. James Franco is so the hot bad boy in high school and I would totally have a crush on him. John Francis Daly is tiny and PRECIOUS, and it's totally messing with my head that he has the same sinful mouth but he's like TWELVE. o.O Seth Rogan is stoner hilarity, Linda Cardellini is totally sympathetic and smart but trying not to be THAT girl and OH I FEEL YOU SWEETIE. Basically it is all around awesome and real and fantastic, and I can't wait to watch the rest of it.

I also watched the last two episodes of Dollhouse S1 with my uncle tonight. I don't think he's all too impressed, but I really enjoyed getting the chance to watch it again, because the end really really does leave me with that desire for MORE. I would have been gutted if it had just ended there, and probably kind of forgotten about it. It's like if Buffy had just been season 1, you know??? Not all things are Firefly, perfection from the first second. Most things take time to find their sea legs, and I can really see that starting to happen at the end of Dollhouse S1. In particular, I REALLY want to get to know Topher better. They started to give him some truly fascinating layers in the last few episodes, and he was always my favorite anyway. Then there's Whiskey and Paul and Boyd and Alpha and Caroline and Victor and I'm just interested in everyone, not even close to satisfied. I can has S2 nao?! Or first, episode 13! I'm definitely excited for that one.

I would like to note that I LOVE LOVE LOVE both of the Cobras' new songs. Good Girls Go Bad is fantastic fun, but I like Pete Wentz is the Reason We're Famous even more. I don't know why! Something about the rhythm and the guitar heavy riff. It makes me dance around while I fold my laundry! \o/ I am pleased as punch and can't WAIT for the rest of the album.

I had another successful day in the lab! It started with a "lab meeting," which is basically one lab member presenting their recent work to the rest of the lab. Today it was Paul presenting his work on developing a new therapeutic strategy for targeting HIV! It was really fascinating stuff and I think they might actually be onto something. But what I also found interesting that this guy, a fourth year PhD student and about to graduate soon, still had trouble answering questions sometimes and took suggestions from other people on future directions for his work. Basically, he didn't seem like a crazy genius. I've always sort of imagined near-finished PhD students as being intimidatingly expert, and I suppose many of them are, but they're still, like, young people and students! I think I can manage that. ;) I'm actually pretty sure that I can do this thing, which is not something I was really certain about. Still not, but getting more confident! Science went quite well today again (I think) and I learned several new techniques, again! Biochem is such a cornucopia of tools, you can be doing completely different things every day, which I just LOVE. \o/

Harry Potter this week omg! I have to work up the nerve to text that guy I met and ask him if he wants to see it with me. I can't imagine why he'd say no! That should be fun yay. :D

One thing that's bringing me great joy, completely randomly, is the Friends blooper reels on Youtube. Here are the Season 8 ones, and there are links to others there. The whole cast is just so hilarious, obviously! Side splitting laughter, every single time. Heeeeee.

Hope you're all fine and dandy. I'm entirely behind on LJ, again. I think this is going to be a theme of grad school, I'm afraid. :( Not surprising, but quite sad. I'll probably still post because I'm self-indulgent like that, and I love having the record that LJ leaves behind, but I'm afraid I'm going to fall behind on all other things - commenting, your lives, fic reading, everything. Boo. Hopefully you'll still love me? :)?

I thought this would be an interesting challenge, and it was! I'm also up way too late again. Dammit.

List 10 platonic relationships on TV/Movies that you enjoy.

Rules:

1. They interact in canon, preferably in a significant (apply your own interpretation of such) way.
2. They are not related. They can, however, view each other as surrogate family.
3. Neither has confessed or implied romantic love for the other in canon.
4. They have not dated, been married, had sex, or made out in canon, on purpose, and of their own free will.
5. A popular fanon ship is ok (though preferably not your ship) but a canon pairing you wish were just friends is out.
6. Try to avoid using the same character or series twice.

1. Buffy, Willow, and Xander. (With bonus Giles). Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Their collective friendship is one of the most beautiful and enduring things in all of television. The original trio of Chosen One, Geek, and Dork! (I'm looking at you, Harry Potter!) Each side of this triangle has its own unique strength, but the three of them together is just unstoppable. With Giles, well, they can even save the world. :)

More! Don't worry, no spoilers for anything. )

I'm totally drawing a blank on a 10th, and it's 4 AM, so screw the rules. :P That was really interesting though, because it's quite unusual to look at fannish material with a purely platonic eye. I realized that, 1) many many of the non-romantic relationships I'm invested in are familial, though I often want them to be romantic, cough cough, and 2) in depth portrayals of female frienships are pretty rare! I was trying to think of more girl-girl friendships but it's really, really hard. Bones and Angela are actually a kind of unique example. And I really love them all the more for it. The other exemplar of that category on this list is Buffy and Willow, of course. If I had to choose a number 10, I'd say Rory and her best friend from Gilmore Girls, but I'm totally blanking on her name. Anyway, that show is thumbs up on the female relationships all around, so kind of an anomaly. It's strange to have very few role models on the screen for a kind of relationship that is incredibly important to me (my life would be empty without my best girls). Welcome to being a girl, I suppose. >.<

Two things I think are AWESOME:
  • Cobra Starship's new video. Hot and funny and sassy, as usual! <33 Leighton Meester is positively gorgeous, and a pretty convincing lure towards Gossip Girl. Hurmmmmm. Anyway, she and Vicky-T as what they are (no spoilers!) is HOT AS HELL om nom nom.
  • NEW THE USED SINGLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Download "Blood on my Hands" at the iTunes store! Because it is AWESOME! I already know it pretty well, and I got to hear it LIVE first, but the bits where Bert sings lower sound much better on the studio version, and I always liked the song. NEEEED THIS ALBUM OMG.
exsequar: (Girlyrock - Panic! - Boys will be boys)
So I should probably do some work and/or eat some food today, but the internet has just been TOO AWESOME! Also, it is raining and gray, which always fails to motivate me.

  1. PANIC BABIES AND THEIR FACES.

I just. WHAT. THEY MADE IT THEMSELVES!!! With the dancing and the FURRY and the clapping and the lipstick and the giggles and the falling over and the DANCING. I don't even know what to DO with them! UGH BOYS HEARTS. I get to see them in a WEEK omg!!!!! Possibly on barrier in a massive arena, during which I might DIE, but it will be a happy death indeed! :D
  2. Fall Out Boys nomg! America's fucking Suitehearts! It's SO GOOD. All loud and catchy with the most delicious guitar riffs, but slow and beautiful too, and NOM NOM NOM. It's the kind of song that makes me dance around my room ridiculously and play air guitar, then switch to hairbrush microphone for the beautiful verses. <333333
  3. Also, Guy Ripley on the set of I Don't Care! I LOLED. My favorite part is Ryland and Gabe reenacting the "Charlie bit me!!!" video, which me and my Dublin girls LOVE RIDICULOUSLY, so I appreciated that shout out :D
  4. I skipped over to The Used's Myspace to see if there was any stuff from their new album, and they had a link to a teaser, but the LINK DIDN'T WORK D: However, it did take me to a video director's website, where I found the video for Against Me!'s "Borne on the FM Waves of the Heart", which is definitely my favorite song off the album New Wave. I didn't know who the female guest vocalist was, but it's Tegan or Sara! It's a beautiful vid, and I have gained a new appreciation for the very attractive Against Me! lead singer :D (Note to self: find out his name!)
  5. Saturday's a slow day in politics, but the headline at Huffington is about how the Republicans and particularly the McCain camp are completely divided over Palin. Methinks you can't win an election if half of the campaign staff doesn't support the other half of the ticket. JUST SAYIN'. Meanwhile, at 538, Sean continues to abscond with my heart over and over. Today he wrote up a bit on North Dakota and why it's so ridiculously tight for the first time in, well, ever. ♥ NINE DAYS!!
  6. Being back in love with Supernatural is KIND OF AWESOME. The past two episodes have been exercises in fantastic lolarity. And I must say - Jensen Ackles is a fucking REVELATION. He bounces between heartwrenching drama and gutbusting humor with such astonishing ease. His little wide-eyed scared face is kind of my favorite thing ever ever <333 The new promo shots are also making me happy (inmypants) - the original post with the HQ seems to have been locked, but UGH LOOK AT THEM. With the cheekbones and the forearms and the eyes and the body language and I just. OM NOM NOM. (They live together!!! *expires*)

*deep breath* Phew! It's been a long time since I've been so spazzy about fandom. I totally didn't even mention Gerard namedropping Alfonso Cuaron for the Umbrella Academy movie (!!!!) or claiming that he wouldn't survive the Zombiepocalypse (SADFACE!)! TOO MUCH AWESOME, WORLD. I don't have TIME. I have lab reports and and... okay, well, just lab reports right now. Which is kind of awesome :D

This is my overdue Warped report! I won't be too rambly, I hope, but there are a few highlights and impressions I'd like to get down. So without further ado:

Warped Tour 2008: Scranton, PA

I made the two and a half hour drive by myself and met up with [livejournal.com profile] enoughoflove and [livejournal.com profile] chaneen at Warped around noon. They were both awesome and I was so glad to have fangirls with me! \o/ We first caught the very tail end of Against Me! They were very good, I wish I had seen the whole set. Then we wandered around looking at the merch stands and stuff. [livejournal.com profile] chaneen said she had spotted an Alex Suarez at the Cobra tent on her way to meet us, but we didn't see him again, alas!

Wandering about photos )

So then I wanted to see Anberlin. I had about 6 songs of theirs on my iPod and I really liked them, so I hoped seeing them live would fully convert me. It did! It was a fun, energetic set, and they seemed like really sweet guys. I was particularly fond of the bassist, flopping his hair about all adorably! We were at the back/side of the crowd, for which I was grateful as the crowd surfers became quite frequent. We even saw a full bottle of Gatorade or something hurtle through the air over the crowd, open. Yuck. I later bought Anberlin's second album at their merch tent, the only money I spent all day except on a bottle of water (I know, right? Restraint and a massive thunderstorm will do that!)

A couple shots of Anberlin )

I forget how, but we managed to kill about an hour then waiting for TAI... and Cobras. But just as we were heading to the stage to get spots for TAI, this guy got on stage and told us that the sky was about to open up on us, and that we could find shelter or our cars. Sure enough, about five minutes later the apocalypse began! Gigantic, freezing drops of rain, with huge flashes of lightning, rolling thunder, and soon marble-sized chunks of hail. Luckily, the brilliant [livejournal.com profile] enoughoflove had brought garbage bags, so we were able to put our stuff in them and it didn't get wet \o/ You rock, Loey. But we didn't find shelter soon enough and were immediately soaked and freezing. We found sort of shelter under the corner of a very crowded merch tent, but mostly it saved my head from the hail. There was about two inches of water flowing across the ground, it was that intense. I actually thought it was a really cool experience, going through that kind of thing with a heck of a lot of strangers. I'm not sure how many people actually left then, but it wasn't everyone! It was still quite crowded later.

Before the rain completely stopped, we ventured out and back towards the Academy stage to see if they were still going to play. There was a small crowd that had stuck out the rain (!!) but we joined the back of that and that's how we got three from barrier! \o/ Everyone looked like drowned rats but were still amazingly in good spirits! Soon, the TAI crew started setting up, including TONY, who is ridiculously hot. I took some creepy stalker photos of him, haha. While we were waiting for TAI, Relient K played on the stage next door, and they were very good!

THEN THE ACADEMY IS... STARTED!!! They were SO fucking on. William's voice was resonant and powerful, and he had his hips and long self working to the max, and it was just so so so much fun. It was my VERY FIRST PIT, you guys. I was a pit virgin! This one was fine, though I could have done without the crowdsurfers (I have irrational rage where they're concerned - I consider it a VERY selfish thing to do, ruining other peoples' fun and risking injury to them just to have a few seconds of fun. ANYWAY.). They played so many of my favorites, even though their set had to be abbreviated for the rain. The setlist, as far as I can remember from the videos I took, was Neighbors, Slow Down, We've Got A Big Mess, The Phrase That Pays, Checkmarks, and About a Girl. I might be missing one or two in there, but suffice to say it was FABULOUS. William is a force that has to be seen to be believed. He really WORKS the crowd. He has a penchant for tugging his shirt up, and playing with microphone stands. [livejournal.com profile] enoughoflove didn't know anything about TAI going in (Laura and I were giving her a crash course in who played what instrument beforehand) but she came out awed of William and his charisma. Whee! \o/ I really hope I like the upcoming album, and I can't wait for them to go on tour this fall!

The Academy Is... photos. Lots of Billiam! )

Okay, THE SEX EYES. During The Phrase That Pays, William sauntered his way over to our side of the stage, out on the wing. While he was singing, he caught my eyes, smiled adorably, and then proceeded to give me the sexiest "come hither" eyes/gesture I have EVER SEEEEEEN. My knees went to jelly, and as soon as he pranced away, I turned to Laura and Loey and went OMGGGGGGGGG. Amazingly, I found VIDEO of it on youtube!!!

At 00:14, just as he says "sick somehow" he gives this blinding smile and then the come hither look. HE'S LOOKING AT ME. Dead dead dead dead. :D :D :D The rest of the video is great too, and is a very good approximation of what my view was.

YAY ACADEMY.

The Cobras were IMMEDIATELY afterwards on the stage next door, and of COURSE the whole TAI crowd wanted to see them too, so as soon as TAI stopped we all sort of shoved over en masse. We didn't get very far as there was already a crowd for Cobras, but we got far enough. However, after one song, Gabe gave a shout out to TAI and all of us that had watched them, and then told us to make our way into the middle of the Cobra crowd because we fucking well deserved it. (He loves Academy so much omg) So as one, we all moved in one big PUSH and I got much closer. Not as close as I was for Academy, but it was awesome nonetheless.

Cobras were fabulous. I'll admit that I'm less fond of their music than most, but they played most of my favorites as well! City Is At War, Church of Hot Addiction, Smile for the Paparazzi, Bring It, Guilty Pleasure, and probably one or two more. They were adorable and engaging and super fun, of course. Gabe on stage is magnetic. He said that "Scranton puts the PA in party!!" and Ryland added that "Until now, we were purtying. But now we're fucking PARTYING." I have no idea, but it was hilarious. VickyT looked lovely in her dress, and Alex Suavez is a hotass, of course. I totally did the dance during Guilty Pleasure, as did Mr Gabriel! Bring It was marvelously adorable, with Bill and Gabe slapping hands when Bill came on stage and generally being really cute. For the rap, Gabe brought a girl from the crowd on stage, and she was damn good! Got every word and loud too! Go girl! \o/ While Gabe was working that out, Bill had adorable pow wows with Alex and Ryland. SIGH THESE BANDS. I hope they do a real tour together at some point when I can make it!

Cobra pics! Not as many and not as good, but hey. Cobra! )

So that was my first Warped experience! YAY! I really loved it, despite the hiccups. A++ would sweat again! :D
exsequar: (Girlyrock - HS - Darren zomg!)
I'm sleepy.

My flatmate/bestie's birthday was this weekend, and his grandparents got him a 32" flat screen TV. Homg it's beautiful. We just bought cords and adapters so we can play shit from our laptops on it and omgggg you guys. GERARD'S SO BIG I JUST WANT TO LICK HIM.

...that sounded very dirty. OM NOM NOM GERARD. :D

I called the insurance company today and they're mailing me a replacement phone tomorrow \o/ However, since I'm a failboat, I thought that the fact that it requires a signature for delivery meant I had to have it sent home and make sure someone's there. I didn't think to mail it to the school mail room, where they could sign for it. *facepalm* I r dumb. Rob's being very nice and staying home for the morning (his work is all on computers anyway) and I'll cover the afternoon if it isn't here yet. NEW PHONE YAY.

You know that experiment that I've been agonizing about? Well I think I FINALLY fixed the problem. Or rather, Dr. Van Arman did. He was my orgo professor in sophomore year, and if you've been around that long you may remember that I LOVED him. When we had our poster session last week, I explained our problem to him, and he said "Oh why don't you try X or Y?" I ran the idea past MY professor and he kinda went "Huh. I really like that!" *facepalm* My professor is not exceedingly bright. Between us we quite lack imagination, and since I lack the knowledge/experience besides, it leads to some dead ends. Thank god for Van Arman! \o/ So that's a huge relief. Another reaction I ran today also had the best column separation I have EVER seen, and a great (84%) yield. So it was a good chemistry day! \o/

I also made an important decision. I have this grant money (up to $3000) that comes with the scholarship I have here. I could do two things with it: use it to do a project somewhere besides here, or apply it to my research/thesis project here. I was thinking about using it to go to Dublin in December and work in a lab there for 3 or 4 weeks. Clearly the motivation for that was not the project itself, which I felt was somewhat dishonest. So for various reasons, i think I've decided to use the money for my research with Dr. Fenlon. We could really really use it, as the compound that forms the basis of my research costs $1,800 for 10 grams. Yeah. Also, that means I can use the time in December to go visit extended family in Ohio and Michigan whom I haven't seen in over a year in some cases.

My Hush Sound ticket arrived from my dad for Philly! YAY!

Speaking of concerts, I'm trying to figure out this Empires nonsense. The easiest show for me would be the Saturday show in Baltimore, but their MySpace says 6 PM while the venue website says 2 PM, with a fancy flier and another band booked at 8 PM. So I'm thinking the 2 PM is correct, which is fine since it's a Saturday and easier to travel back afterwards. I doubt I'll have to buy tickets ahead of time - I mean, matinee show of an unsigned band? Yeah. I'm excited!!!

Also, the Cobras presale is tomorrow. There are several dates that are in geographical proximity, but only the Philly one is really feasible in terms of date. However, that's right in the thick of the semester and I think I'm going to be SUPER busy this year. As I just saw the Cobras, and they're not my favorite (musically!), I think I'm going to say no to this one. For now. I have to draw a line somewhere!

Also also, people keep talking about the Cab tour, but I haven't actually seen any info on it anywhere. What's it called? I'm just curious, because someone referenced it being a faily name (WHO IS SURPRISED?) but didn't actually say what it was. I don't think I'll go, as, uh, I'm seeing them twice as a consequence of The HUSHIESSSS, and I don't like the album.

I got my paycheck today (the second half of my summer stipend) and, in total, they took out EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS in taxes. Taxes I will just get back because I'm not going to make enough to need to be taxed! Fucking government. I could really use that money right now.

Uh, I don't want to end this post on a down note. Ergo, FRANK.

DO WANT.

I SURVIVED WARPED TOUR 08!! \o/

Man, what a DAY. In brief:
  • I left the tickets at home. Cue panic attack. Had to print them at a hotel.
  • Found [livejournal.com profile] enoughoflove and [livejournal.com profile] chaneen
  • Watched Anberlin. Love!
  • THUNDER/LIGHTNING/HAILSTORM OF THE APOCALYPSE. It felt like the sky opened up on us. We "sheltered" under a merch tent but needless to say we got soaked.
  • Because of rain and people being wusses, got THIRD FROM BARRIER for Academy.
  • WILLIAM BECKETT GAVE ME A COMEHITHER SEXFACE ON STAGE. Details later!
  • Shuffled over to next stage for Cobra, where Gabe ordered our crowd to shove to the middle. YES!
  • Cobras rocked my face off!
  • Discovered that somewhere in that chaos, I had lost my phone! /o\ But it is insured! \o/
  • Went to [livejournal.com profile] chaneen's to dry off and eat.
  • Drove home.

SO TIRED.

William Beckett, ladies and gents.

1) TORO BABY ZOMG. That is so adorable. Also, Bob says SMOOOCHES, Frank signs with a hug and a kiss, and Mikey thanks Geeway but Gee doesn't thank him. I find this hilarious. BOYS BOYS BOYS.

2) Gerard has this face.

3) Panic babies at Glastonbury! Rather precious. The NME videos (two links there) are super presh too. Ugh their faces.

4) TBPID Live CD streaming!! I'm just finishing my first listen through and it all sounds AMAZING. <33

5) This girl went BOWLING WITH COBRAS AND TAI. And got an adorable picture of Gabe and William being OTP. :D :D :D

6) FRANK. I don't have a link for this one, I just felt like it, yaknow? FRAAANK.

Ugh, all of them! THIS FANDOM! <3__<3

Last night I trudged over to Ryan and Kathan and Audrey and Fei's apartment because they were having a potluck dinner and I was too exhausted to make myself food. I was planning on coming home right away. Then someone broke out the Jose Cuervo and Smirnoff. Hahahaha. After a couple hours i was able to move my car to a parking spot where it wouldn't be towed, but that was about the extent of it :P We ended up moving down the hall for a party the CHEMISTRY kids were having, and it was SO MUCH FUN OMG. Kathan and Sean got it into their heads to go to the park around 11 PM, and eventually we managed to bring EVERYONE, like, 20 of us to the park and we played on the swings and were generally loud and giggly and I hung out with BEN BERG who is so awesome his name should always be in caps. And I made NEW FRIENDS! Matt who is quirky and funny and nice and a LOT like my best friend Rob, which is mildly creepy. Dierdre who is Rob's girlfriend but whom I hadn't met because she was a freshman while I was in Dubs. She was TONS of fun and we hit it off instantly. And there was lots of other great people there and I just had such a good time and I'm starting to think it's not such an awful thing to be stuck here all summer. A year ago I would have stayed in my apartment and completely missed out on all that fun. I was dumb! Now I actually know how to socialize and enjoy it, haha. Yay!

My job still sucks, but hopefully this will help balance that out. :)

Now I need to go shower because I'm still in yesterday's clothes, haha.

Well, it has been one eventful evening (morning for me) on old LJ/in the world!

First of all, thank you all for your kind comments. I'll be okay. If I think about it too hard, I get really sad, but I'll be okay. (I think this song will be my soundtrack for a while. &panic;)

Okay, in bullet points:
  • Clinton won Pennsylvania. FUCK. (At least Obama won my county? \o?)
  • This girl street teamed for S//C in Chicago, hung out with Frankie in an alley, and found out RAY IS FUCKING MARRIED!!! :D :D :D :D Congratulations to Ray!!!
  • Vicky-T is OBLITERATING that fourth wall. I'll repeat what I said in [livejournal.com profile] modillian's comments: God, mostly I feel bad for VickyT. I'm kind of shaking my head at her for "engaging" (in the sense of "with the enemy") because she can't win. I've seen her having impassioned conversations with MORONS in Youtube comments, and she doesn't seem to understand that no amount of logic or reasonable arguing is going to make the haters stop hating. It's just not going to go anywhere pretty and I'm really amazed if she isn't pissed yet, but if she isn't then she's gonna be.
  • This just in: Cobra Starship is BEAUTIFUL. On that note, I BOUGHT MY WARPED TICKET!!!! And [livejournal.com profile] enoughoflove's!! YAY! THE TALL TRIFECTA OF AWESOME!
  • The new Clandestine site is actually gorgeous, and the soundtrack starts with a remix of I Write Sins which is pretty sweet. Is it just me or is that Nick Scimeca modelling???

And that's it for now. Wow! Now I am off to do a sociology presentation, then spend a loooong day in the library D: Later, loves.
