Usually when I'm this obsessed with a fandom I can't stop posting about it! Since I have my Twitter outlet (I GOT PUT IN TWITTER JAIL FOR TWEETING TOO MUCH ABOUT THE GERMANY-BELGIUM GAME YESTERDAY LMAO) I feel like I get enough squee out there, BUT I need to have my love for one Bastian Schweinsteiger on the public record. :D I just threw together a picspam for an ontd_football post in roughly five minutes, so I'm just gonna slap it up over here so I can come back and chinhands at it from time to time. I'm trying not to stress about making it too comprehensive because I have literally 450 PICTURES OF THIS MAN on my computer, so I'm just letting it stand as is. SIIIIGH BASTIANO I LOVE YOU SO MUCH.


So for starters, BASTIAN IS MY MOST FAVORITE AND MAKES MY HEART FLUTTER WHENEVER HE'S SO MUCH AS MENTIONED. Don't get me started on when he's a BAMF on the field - I'm practically nonfunctional. *____*

In all seriousness, I'm so thrilled and proud of this boy - from sexy, kind of hilarious bleach-blond rebel to mature, dignified, charismatic leader. He just throws his whole self, heart and soul, into the game of football and it really shows - both in his joy in victory and his utter, crushing despair at defeat. When I was watching Germany-Spain (er, WC variety) and knew they were going to lose, I was most scared of seeing Bastian sad, because I knew it would tear my heart out and stomp on it. He didn't disappoint. :( BUT BACK TO HAPPY THINGS, it's so clear that everyone around him adores him, and that's one of the sexiest characteristics a man can have, imo, especially since it's entirely natural and he has no ego about it. He's just a people magnet! Even refs love him. :) I love how good he is to his teammates, how he loves to smile and laugh and tease but also knows how to get down to business. I love his habit of rocketing goals in from outside the box (particularly against Portugal!), and I love how he dribbles. (THAT'S RIGHT.) I love how he tapes his wrists to support them, and matches the tape color to his jersey. I love his everything, pretty much.

Isn't he just?? Does it start to make sense why this fandom has swept me off my feet and absconded with me to Bavaria? *g* He is just - such a MAN, nnngh. ♥

Oh darling, YOUR WISH IS MY COMMAND. Spontaneous Arne Friedrich spam! A little background: Arne's nickname in fandom is THE HUG MONSTER. This is obviously because he REALLY likes to give hugs! Full body, super duper happy hugs. It's my favorite thing in the world. :') He's a central defender and really helped to hold things down in the back during the WC, like a bamf. He's one of the older members of the German national team - 32? - and will not be playing in another World Cup, which makes me so intensely sad I cannot even tell you. But he is an absolute sweetheart of a man, he loves to laugh and he loves his team. I love Arne Friedrich and you should too. :D

So one of my favorite moments in the WC was when ARNE SCORED A GOAL!!!!! :O It was the third against mothertruckin ARGENTINA, and it was his FIRST INTERNATIONAL GOAL. My beautiful bb! He was SO happy, and his team was SO HAPPY FOR HIM. :')

Actually he does it to provide support in case he falls on them. You can't see a lump under them for the bracelets, and anyway it would destroy the bracelets to keep putting heavy medical tape on them all the time.
