Ill just ignore this entire post and comment that apples are indeed better then being puppets. I dont exactly get the reference, but it works with the autumn season in that cliche way. Same with the colors I guess.

It is a reference to a River quote wherein she talks about apple bits, and then asks "what am i?!" But you're right, it does fit the theme :)
