one more miracle

Ok so this thing took me like, two hours to make because my computer is SO FRAKKING SLOW with the Adobe programs and I had to deal with both Photoshop and Imageready. But LOOK AT THE BOYS! They're always checking in on each other, always keeping an eye (or more often two) on each other, and it just makes my heart happy.

pinknylon made the animation, along with a whole bunch of others from Simon Said, including Sam collapsing in Dean's arms. So much love. I would make more icons, but, uhm, TWO HOURS. So if you snag this one, make sure you credit both of us :)

I'm watching the Lost that Nathan was in and oh, how I adore him.

I enjoyed the Veronica Mars premiere well enough. Some great lines/moments, some good character stuff. However, it did not feel important in any way - I was not shocked or amazed or anything. It kinda just felt like more of the same. Perhaps the Supernatural premiere thoroughly spoiled me? Yes, I think that is it :P

I'm goin over to Andrea's in a few minutes to watch the Lost premiere - I'm givin it one last chance! I actually hope I don't like it because God knows I don't need another show, and I could really use having my Wednesday nights free! :P

On the other hand, NEW SUPERNATURAL TOMORROW! And BSG PREMIERE FRIDAY YAAAAAAAY!

Today was a strangely isolated day - I didn't get to see any of my friends! *woe* I had two classes, two hours of work, then another class in which I had to make a presentation. No one was free to have lunch OR dinner with me. I ended up picking up Quizno's for Fei and going to hang out with her for dinner.

Much more importantly, I did get to see a very cool presentation by the chairwoman of a program called MADRE, and a woman from the Umoja Uaso Women's Group. You can go here to read about it. Madre is an organization that fights for women's rights all over the world, setting up programs to educate women and to protect them from abuse and violence. Umoja is a unique village in Kenya where a group of women have set up a community together to protect themselves from abusive husbands. The original women were raped by British soldiers in the 80s, and rejected from their homes because they brought shame by being the victims of rape. So they bonded together and have now set up this amazing place where they are learning about women's rights (thanks to Madre) and spreading the word around their tribe. They take in and shelter any women who need protection. It was very moving to listen to the woman speak. I would recommend looking around Madre's website, it's a very good organization.

Just made my first icon nominations! I've tried before but it's just so hard to choose, and find ones that fit all the categories and everything. But I decided to be bad and procrastinate, so I did it! For BSG, at bsg_awards (go nom, it's a brand new comm and they need noms!), of all things, even though I..... okay, I was going to say that I don't have many saved, but apparently I already have ALMOST TWO HUNDRED BSG icons saved. I am insane. I have an icon fetish. IT'S BAD.

WOW. That's a lot of icons. And I bet I've used maaaaybe 10% of them on LJ, ever. Hee. What can I say, I like options! I also like randomly making lists when I should be doing homework or sleeping, yay!

The distribution makes a lot of sense. Harry Potter and Queer as Folk were definitely my longest, most involved fandoms. Supernatural has eaten my BRAIN, so that's no surprise. Firefly was a relatively short period of time (for me, I mean) but it burned BRIGHT, and also it's just a damn iconable show. Lots of talent in that fandom too. And Ewan... oh Ewan. SO PRETTY. I really went nuts over him. BtVS was more piecemeal, I only got into LJ after I was pretty much done with that show. Most of the time I just saved Faith icons, hence the folder. For a while I had like 5 Faith icons uploaded at any given time. BSG does surprise me, but hey, icon WHORE right here :) Lost... liked the show a lot, never LOVED it, and I always found the icons very boring in that fandom, for some reason. VMars, my involvement has been peripheral at best. And Star Wars... well. That's a lot of icons for one movie (cause they're pretty much all Revenge of the Sith) and only two characters (Ani and Obi, duh).

You all couldn't care less. Sweet!

NEW SUPERNATURAL TOMORROW. *squee!* Tonight I only saw the last 15 minutes of Lost, and now I want to see the rest. Locke episode! However, I'm afraid I have fallen utterly behind on VMars, it's rather sad. Ah well.

Was there a new Gilmore Girls last night? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

Supernatural was a rerun, and I thought it wasn't. I was v. disappointed. It also happened to be the ep I had watched on my computer the night before, so boo.

In better news, new Lost and VMars tonight! :)

So I wake up to my cell phone ringing at 11:30, and guess who it is? Sean! This is probably the 5th time he's woken me up by calling me, but this is the first time we weren't at *school*. Haha. He had a question about textbooks, but we just talked for a while, and it was nice! I've missed him.

I finally laid my hands on the Boondock Saints songs, SWEET. If anyone wants me to upload them, I will be happy to :)

Gilmore Girls was kind of blah, although there were some great scenes, now that Rory and Lorelai are talking. Yay.

Supernatural was super-slashy. Teehee. The phone call? Awwwwwwww.

SVU was... SVU. For some obscure reason, lately Elliot and Olivia have been taking cases separately, and while I still enjoy it, I miss what I love, and that's Elliot and Olivia working together. I mean, come on! Bah humbug.

New Lost tonight, yaaaaaay. And Veronica Mars, but it's the same time, booooooo. Torrents, they are my friends.
