Oh my god IS IT THURSDAY YET?

Thinking about 2x20 and the Director's Cuts, a possibility for the ep popped into my head...
How awesome would it be if Dean called alterna!Sam "Sammy," and Sam looked at him like he was insane and said "Dean, you haven't called me that since I was ten." I think it would be AWESOME. A wee bit heartbreaking, but awesome nonetheless. Because it would show how close OUR Dean and Sam are, how Sam tolerates (hell, WELCOMES) such a personal name from ONLY Dean. Whereas in alternaworld, they would have drifted apart and not kept such open affection between them. ALSkfjsdlfkj. Thursday YET?

I am mildly panicked about orgo. And stat. And about getting packed in time to leave Saturday. OH GOD.

*flails around*

I haven't seen the director's cuts, but I'm ridiculously spoiled for this ep, so it doesn't really matter except that I don't want to know exactly what happens. That moment would ROCK if they could find a way to fit it in.

In other news, I finished S2 of SGA. *hyperventilates slightly at the cliffhanger even though duh, there's a third season, of course they don't die*

[identity profile] exsequar.livejournal.com 2007-05-02 03:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Eeee, yay! S2 was fun, wasn't it? But S3!!! I'm so excited for you :D:D And hey, isn't Ronon AWESOME? Like, made of SEX? *g*
trinity_clare: (atlantis)

[personal profile] trinity_clare 2007-05-02 03:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Ronon is both AWESOME and MADE OF SEX. I'm glad I didn't know exactly how awesome he was because don't know how I would have survived season 1 without him. The plotlines of S2 were pretty good and a lot like fanfic, which was awesome. I'm going to try and hold off on S3 until after finals, so about three weeks. Yikes!

[identity profile] exsequar.livejournal.com 2007-05-02 03:27 pm (UTC)(link)
*laughs* SGA is a lot like fanfic on screen sometimes, definitely. My favorite episode was Duet - oh David Hewlett, HOW ARE YOU SO AWESOME? *g*

Oh man, good luck with that! Both the finals and the waiting!
trinity_clare: (atlantis)

[personal profile] trinity_clare 2007-05-02 03:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh my god, yes! I kept thinking hey, how come SGA gets its bodyswap episode in season 2? Not fair! (SPN had BETTER do one sometime, hopefully next season.) Probably my favorite cracked-out plotline was The Long Goodbye, because who comes up with shit like that? Except, y'know, the people who wrote Mr. and Mrs. Smith. And I adored Epiphany, mostly because "I knew I loved you before I met you" is not only a Savage Garden song but one of my bulletproof kinks, so that was made of awesome.

[identity profile] exsequar.livejournal.com 2007-05-02 03:38 pm (UTC)(link)
I loved The Long Goodbye, mostly for Elizabeth being completely kickass - I thought Torri did a great job with that. And I'm glad you liked Epiphany, but fandom as a whole rather dislikes that episode, lol. It's kind of completely ridiculous. Though Rodney freaking out about his boyfriend and "We need to hurry hurry HURRY" is so adorable.
trinity_clare: (atlantis)

[personal profile] trinity_clare 2007-05-02 03:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Why on EARTH would fandom hate that episode? I mean, I know it wasn't the most quality thing ever, but what's so awful about it? It was a win in my book starting with John + little kids.

Oooh, one of my favorite McShep moments came from The Long Goodbye too, when not!John is trying to convince Teyla to let him go and he says "He cares for you, more than you know" and then the camera cuts COMPLETELY RANDOMLY to Rodney's broken face! It was so gratuitous, it was excellent.

[identity profile] exsequar.livejournal.com 2007-05-02 03:57 pm (UTC)(link)
HEEEEEEE. I am SO GLAD you picked up on that moment because YES. YES. Completely gratuitous and "hi, shippers! We know they're in love too!" SO MUCH LOVE.

Well, I don't personally hate it, though I've only ever watched it once. But I think people are like "invisible monster wtf?" and think that the girl is stupid and boring (which, um, I concur, heh) and I dont know. Maybe it's partly what the episode could have been - Joe Flanigan wrote it, but his original idea was, and I quote, a "McKay and Sheppard story," which, aldskfhlsjkdf. HE knows they're in love too! :D But that didn't happen and instead we got... another space bimbo :-/ (I am sorry if you like her, but I haven't liked one of the random pretty girls yet.)
trinity_clare: (atlantis)

[personal profile] trinity_clare 2007-05-02 04:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay, yeah, the invisible monster is pretty stupid. And while I haven't liked any of the space chicks, they've done their job, which was sex up John Sheppard and then ascend - not a bad job, come to think of it. Also notice how John did't even consider staying. So, eh, I liked it, and it's pretty awesome that Joe Flanigan wrote it. Oh, Joe, every story is a McKay and Sheppard story, even when Rodney's hallucinating some chick from SG1 to save his life. (Alas, I'm not enough of a fan to know episode names yet, so I'm stuck with "the one where...")

I'm also starting to like the hetships (gasp!) mostly because it's fun to see the difference between scripted UST and uncontrollable slashy chemistry. :D

[identity profile] exsequar.livejournal.com 2007-05-02 04:57 pm (UTC)(link)
The stuck-in-the-Puddlejumper one is called Grace Under Pressure, and yes, such a McShep story :D

Well, the thing with SGA is that they're NOT trying to push any of the hetships. There isn't much scripted UST, not really. Elizabeth and John's relationship is lovely, but it's not sexualized in any way. Teyla and Ronon... I'd love to see them make pretty pretty babies, but mostly their relationship is big brother/little sister. John and Rodney on the other hand..... *grins*
trinity_clare: (atlantis)

[personal profile] trinity_clare 2007-05-02 05:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, I agree completely. Two whole seasons and the only real hetships have been Elizabeth/Simon (<<<<<<< Deacon) and John/random space chicks. And then Rodney's date with...Katie, is it? That little romantic drama is remarkable for a tv show. Really the only difference between het UST and slash UST is that I don't have slash goggles, so I pick up on a lot more of the het moments than the slash moments. *shrug* The other amazing thing is that I don't hate any of the hetships. There's John/Elizabeth, John/Teyla, Ronon/Teyla...well really Ronon/ANYONE, but still. They all have such wonderfully intimate relationships even without sex, which apparently tv producers don't believe is possible, judging from what we see everywhere else. (Except SPN, of course. *sigh* theirloveissounfitfornetworktelevision)

[identity profile] exsequar.livejournal.com 2007-05-02 05:22 pm (UTC)(link)
It is pretty damn remarkable! Slightly unrealistic, because they've kind of made their home here and, you know, people are people, but I am definitely not complaining! They know exactly how fans feel about that sort of thing (they talk about it in one of the commentaries! Joe goes "So that's what they mean by shipping?" and I DIE of laughter) in that we love to take what WE like from canon and then make our own stories about those relationships. They keep the show itself about the plot and the friendships, but the romance they leave up to us. Which is GREAT, since their twosome with the most chemistry is... not exactly something that they would make canon (UNFORTUNATELY).

And you don't have slash goggles? Really? Huh. Well, it's hard to miss the McShep in any case, right? They're a wee bit obvious *g* And just wait until third season! Hooboy.

That's definitely one of the reasons I LOVE this show so much :)
trinity_clare: (atlantis)

[personal profile] trinity_clare 2007-05-02 05:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, John and Elizabeth have those pesky fraternization rules, but I refuse to believe that Ronon and Teyla haven't had sex, or aren't heading for sex in the near future. The best part is that they're all so close already that sex might not change things all that much.

I NEED that commentary. OMG. I'm the kind of sick person that loves watching things with commentary (last time I had the flu it was the extended Lord of the Rings with cast commentary for twelve hours.), and this show seems like it would have awesome ones. I might actually have to rent the DVDs now instead of torrenting.

Well, not having slash goggles doesn't mean I don't see slash at all. The McShep jumps out at me once in a while in a big way (like that moment in The Long Goodbye, among others) but the show isn't necessarily about their Big Gay Love to me. Sometimes I just need to get whacked over the head with the subtext for it to sink in. Which is why SPN is so awesome, since that's EXACTLY what it does.

*can't wait to watch season 3 OMG*

[identity profile] exsequar.livejournal.com 2007-05-02 06:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Commentaries are so much fun! There are several with David and Joe together, particularly in season 2, and I ADORE them. The one I was talking about is Siege Part III, the S2 premiere, so yes! You should totally rent the DVDs. There are some FABULOUS extra features too. Especially on the S1 DVDs - there are these things called Mission Directives for specific episodes, and more often than not it's just the cast and crew goofing off! They're so SILLY, it's fabulous. My favorite person beside the cast is Martin Gero, one of the main writers, who does a lot a lot of the commentaries too, and he's HILARIOUS ♥

Hee! I definitely watched the extended LotR (though without commentary) for 12 hours straight with my friends. GOOD TIMES.

Well, like I keep saying, you just wait for the third season. They're MARRIED, seriously. It's gonna whack you over the head in a big way *g* (I hope!)
trinity_clare: (atlantis)

[personal profile] trinity_clare 2007-05-02 07:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Awesome! I'm totally going to have to watch all of those. I may or may not have to rip the commentary audio tracks to my computer. :D The extras sound fabulous. There's one more thing for me to look forward to this summer along with S3. I fully expect to be smacked upside the head with McShep goodness, since I doubt you're making it up for fun. :P Married, you say?

(My favorite part about the LotR commentaries is the way the cast points out all of Peter Jackson's cameos. "Wait for it, wait for it...there he is! And there I get to shoot him right between the eyes!" ♥)

P.S. I am heartily enjoying all your SGA icons.

[identity profile] exsequar.livejournal.com 2007-05-02 07:51 pm (UTC)(link)
I actually have a few of the commentary audio files on my computer if you want me to send them to you - they obviously make more sense if you're watching the episode at the same time, but it would save you the trouble of ripping some of them! They are so much fun to listen to :D

MARRIED. *bites knuckles* I didn't believe it til I saw it either, but OMG. :D

(LMAO. That is quite hilarious. They are all so very funny. I loved the story about the Tig game :D)

Hee! I'm enjoying using all my SGA icons! This is the first fandom besides Supernatural that I've uploaded a large number of icons for in a long time. I just love these boys (and girls) so much! ♥
trinity_clare: (atlantis)

[personal profile] trinity_clare 2007-05-02 07:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Um, yes please and I would love you forever? I've been downloading all the episodes (shh, don't tell) so I still have them.

MARRIED. *quivers in anticipation*

(Tig! What a classic.)

Dude, I totally posted that in the wrong place. My bad.

[identity profile] exsequar.livejournal.com 2007-05-02 08:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Haha, it's okay, with the rate we've been going the other would have gotten all squished up against the edge eventually!

I'll start zipping up the commentaries and uploading them :D

*squees into hands* SBP ICON!!!! Oh oh oh. So much LOVE. I'm going to the CW Upfronts with Jaida and I'm all aflail about it. Hee!
trinity_clare: (socks)

[personal profile] trinity_clare 2007-05-02 08:18 pm (UTC)(link)
I have a BILLION SBP icons. And you're going to see Jaida - that's so awesome! Not to mention you'll be at the freaking CW UPFRONTS.

[identity profile] exsequar.livejournal.com 2007-05-02 08:20 pm (UTC)(link)
I used to have lots of SBP icons, but then Supernatural took over, like, 80 of my slots, so there went that plan *laughs* My icons are in constant flux.

If I see/talk to/get autographs from Jared and Jensen, I.... words cannot CONTAIN my squee :D
trinity_clare: (kama sutra)

[personal profile] trinity_clare 2007-05-02 08:39 pm (UTC)(link)
I can't bring myself to delete the SBP icons...they're just too useful.

Just THINKING about it makes me all shivery. I have goosebumps all over just imagining being in the same room with them. When did I become such a fangirl?

[identity profile] exsequar.livejournal.com 2007-05-02 08:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Whee! All done uploading! http://www.megaupload.com/?d=R4H10G6Q It's a big file, 140 ish MB. It's got four commentaries from S2 - three have David and Joe at least, usually with Martin Gero and sometimes Martin Wood (director), and Duet's just got David, Martin, and Martin. I think. Obviously if you listen you'll be able to tell :) But there's lots more on the DVDs - actually, they did commentaries for EVERY SINGLE EPISODE of season 2. I shit you not. I sitll havent listened to them all, though I hear the one with Torri and Paul is adorable :D

Enjoy!
trinity_clare: (how do I love thee)

[personal profile] trinity_clare 2007-05-02 08:51 pm (UTC)(link)
They WHAT? EVERY SINGLE EPISODE? God, and I thought they couldn't get more awesome. Seriously, I am SUCH a commentary addict.

Did I mention that I love you? Like, a lot?

[identity profile] exsequar.livejournal.com 2007-05-02 08:54 pm (UTC)(link)
EVERY EPISODE. This cast is RIDICULOUS with the amazing :D You should buy the DVDs! They're shiny! Literally!

Heehee. It was no problem, dear. I love you too! ;)

SHINY. My summer is going to be so awesome. Speaking of awesome, have you seen this piece of brilliance?

[identity profile] exsequar.livejournal.com 2007-05-02 09:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Hahaha, YES I HAVE. Made of AWESOME. I went through all her SGA icon posts when I first got into the fandom and saved many many. She's brilliant :D Oh John Sheppard, your HAIR. I bet Rodney gives himselves headaches trying to explain the physics of it ;)
trinity_clare: (atlantis)

[personal profile] trinity_clare 2007-05-02 09:05 pm (UTC)(link)
I can code links, really I can.

Hee, I'm going through icon posts right now. Only having one SGA icon is no longer acceptable! John's hair makes me happy. ♥

[identity profile] exsequar.livejournal.com 2007-05-02 09:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I love in fics when other characters (usually Rodney) make fun of John for using up some of his personal items allotment on HAIR GEL. Teehee.

SGA is an extremely iconnable show. It's just so bright and colorful! And also the people are pretty ;)
trinity_clare: (atlantis)

[personal profile] trinity_clare 2007-05-02 09:14 pm (UTC)(link)
I've seen that pop up in more than one fic. Probably the best random piece of fanon ever.

The pretty doesn't hurt, that's for sure.

[identity profile] exsequar.livejournal.com 2007-05-02 09:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Out of curiosity, do you now get what I mean when I say I almost love fanon more than canon? The fic goes places the canon never can, and there's just some really wonderful details and character developments brought to the table by fanfic writers that just don't work into the show they've put on television.
trinity_clare: (atlantis)

[personal profile] trinity_clare 2007-05-02 09:27 pm (UTC)(link)
(Coming out of left field to say I now fully adore your LJ header, by the way.)

Yeah, I really do. Especially when I read all this backstory fic and then go back to the show and think "wait, do we really not know that about John's family?" And the fanon idea of sentient!Atlantis is my favoritest thing ever. So yeah, the devil's in the details. And that's not counting the moments like Rodney mocking John's hair that could easily make it into the show.

[identity profile] exsequar.livejournal.com 2007-05-02 09:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Heehee! Thank you! My favoritest boys all in one place *smishes them all with love*

Okay, cool :) It must have been unique, coming from the sometimes very dark world of fic and finding that canon is really just rather silly! *laughs*
trinity_clare: (atlantis)

[personal profile] trinity_clare 2007-05-02 09:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, I'm familiar enough with the world of fic to translate the amount of angst (and sex) into a realistic expectation of the show. I'm amazed that fandom continues to pull so much depth out of silliness.

[identity profile] exsequar.livejournal.com 2007-05-02 09:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Fandom is pretty fucking spectacular, innit? It amazes me all the time. I mean, there's so much TALENT here. And it's such a great venue, a built-in audience for all aspiring writers! Yay fandom :D
trinity_clare: my fandom has killed my gpa (fandom gpa)

[personal profile] trinity_clare 2007-05-02 09:50 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm pretty sure that without fandom I'd still be writing bad Mary Sure original fiction. The worst part is that I'd be thinking it was good. Yay fandom indeed. ♥

[personal profile] trinity_clare 2007-05-04 06:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Hate to ask you to do this again, but Megaupload and my computer are not playing nicely together. Could you maybe possibly use YSI? You might have to do each one separately, but I would love you beyond forever for it.
