I had a lovely relaxing day with Colin today. I spent the night last night and then we didnt emerge from his room until, um, 4 PM. Yeah. We watched Heroes when we woke up, and his VLC is set to repeat, so the episode replayed uh, 3 more times before we were, hmm, unoccupied. Haha, yeah. Anyway! Very relaxing day :)

I want to talk about TEEVEE! Surprise!

First, before I get to the squee, WHY IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT THE WRITERS GUILD STRIKE???? Unless you are and I've missed it which is completely logical since I haven't been keeping up with most of my flist. But. This is BAD NEWS BEARS. It starts tomorrow, or something, and means that NO MORE TV will get written. Daily Show is going off the air, 24 won't have a complete season, etc etc. Colin said the last strike, in 1988, went on for 6 months and fucked a whole bunch of shows all to hell.

GAH. *panics a little* This is particularly bad news for BSG, but it's just bad all around, and I'm so nervous! Does anyone have any more information that might make me feel a bit better? I heard about it first from reading articles about Joss's new show, where he said it couldn't start getting written until after the strike. Gah! *flaaaail*

Colin watched SGA with me, and he really liked it a lot! \o/ I'm going to work on getting him started from the beginning, hurrah! He also hasn't seen BSG! He's a geek but a not quite fully accomplished one - he just doesn't ever get around to dedicating the time to it. I will fix that! :D

Colin has invited me to go watch a Trinity rugby match, in which his sister in law will be playing and where I will get to meet his VERY pregnant sister! I'm pretty excited, meeting the family and all :D Should be fun!

I have arrived safely here at school after a four hour drive in the very hot sun! I'm chillin on the couch with Ryan, we've both got our laptops on our laps and we're watching Firefly. Woo! I feel awkward about crashing, so I called my landlord and I'm going to get my keys tomorrow, yaye. I'll have my very own apartment! I'm all growed up! Hee. Now I need to figure out the whole feeding myself thing...

La la la, work in the morning! o.O

I'm so proud of myself! I got out of bed at 9:30 (went to bed at 1 AM, BOOYAH!), showered and ate and whatnot, and went and applied for my passport! And now it's only 11 AM! I'm leaving in a little bit to meet my old high school friend Andrew for lunch and a movie, yay! And TOMORROW IS THURSDAY ALDFKJSDLFKJSLDFKJSLDFJK. *breathes*

IT IS A GOOD DAY, KIDS.

Lemme tell you why.

1) I ROCKED my stat exam. On 5 hours of studying and 6 hours of sleep. I AM SO HAPPY YAY.
2) NO MORE EXAMS EEEE
3) Sophomore year is OVER. This means that I am HALFWAY DONE WITH COLLEGE. This is simultaneously terrifying and amazing!
4) I won Deanandsamlims!!! Eeee YAY! This is the first LIMS I've won (I got second place in firefly_lims last year) and it makes me happy! Whee!

So now I'm packing and watching the cast commentary for this week's Heroes on the NBC website. Sendhil and Greg are HILARIOUS (and also LOVE pretending they're gay for each other or other guys on the show) and I am crushing more and more on Mr. Bennett. Yeah I don't know either. HEE.

I've never been upset about being busy on Monday nights before, but now my entire flist is full of reactions to BOTH Heroes and Black Donnellys and I'm very depressed by this. Especially since I won't be able to watch either of them until Wednesday at the VERY earliest. SIGH.

Only one more Winchester-less Thursday... I can do it. *determined face*

(I don't really understand how my mood icon is jealous. He's saying "You have to watch out for me". Color me confused!)

ETA: I am also down in the dumps about how many cons are getting put together that I CANT GO TO. Some are too far away; others are while I'm in Ireland. I'm trying to hold on to the fact that 1) Wincon last year was the best weekend of my LIFE, and it's likely that any attempt at a repeat experience would fail miserably, not least for the lack of some of my favorite people, and 2) IRELAND. So. Yes. *another determined face*

This morning was so weird. As you saw, I got up to take my exam, then came home and went back to sleep. So I woke up at my normal time for class, 11, and it was like... was taking that exam a dream? Very bizarre. I'm just glad it was a physics exam, and not something insane like Orgo that would actually take thinking.

Speaking of orgo (NOT orgy! hee) I need to go study for that. Adios!

Dude, Heroes is AWESOME!! I love EVERYBODY (with the possible exception of Simone, she's vaguely irritating) and omg omg it gave me freaking CHILLS! I'm so excited. GLEE!

And also, major brownie points to TiVo for... well, doing what it's supposed to! Heroes aired at 9, I watched it at 11! *does a happy dance* Yay!

....I may or may not be completely ignoring the bio test and chem lab report I have this week. AWESOME \o/
