Heroes 1xsomething Company Man
Feb. 28th, 2007 07:27 pmWow. Just. Wow. Definitely my favorite episode of Heroes so far. The one-storyline format was really fantastic and allowed me to get really emotionally invested, which I usually can't because of how everything jumps all over the place. Claire is my favorite character, too, so I really liked focusing on her for the whole time. I love Matt too, and he's seemed so isolated, it's really great to see him coming together with the other big faces. I particularly liked him and Claire playing off each other, that was lovely. Hope to see more of it.
Father-daughter dynamics ALWAYS get me in the gut, because my father is the most important person in my life, and so I have the most visceral reaction to those kinds of stories. The end had me in FLOODS. Oh Mr. Bennet! *sniffles* He definitely made me come over to his side - the flashbacks were awesome, except for when he shot poor Claude! :( But it's clear that he has had Claire's interests in mind the whole time, since he's hidden her from his own company. (Side note - the TiVo summary refers to Mr. Bennet as "H.R.G." which just illustrates one of the things that irritates me about the show... they allow the fan presence to show through too strongly in the show's execution and advertising. He has a name now! Use it!) Gah, Claire - the poor, poor darling. I hope she hooks back up with Peter so they can be awesome and adorable together. Not Nathan, because... grarg. Sorry to all Nathan fans - I'm not one, myself.
Ummmm basically that rocked! \o/

Date: 2007-03-01 01:09 am (UTC)Gah, that bugs me too! It's so dumb. He has a name! I get the feeling they started out trying to create some oh-so-shady-mysterious character like the Cigarette Smoking Man on the X-files, who never had a name at all, but considering how much we know about Mr. Bennet now, it feels contrived.
But yes, that episode was awesome and then some. :)

Date: 2007-03-01 03:10 pm (UTC)They were and it was about time we got a more in depth look into his past and how he ended up with Claire in the first place. At the beginning of the show I had my doubts about his character and the more or less blurred picture we had of him but he's grown so much on me and that last episode was the first one that actually made me cry *clings to Bennet and Claire*
