Ah, well, by now I should speak English good enough to know the difference between despite and despise. Right after I sent the comment I went like "d'uh!". Anywhoo. ^^;;
I can absolutely understand why you would like to get approved, exposure is always good and I think it's a good place to get it. I just don't like the whole concept of judging others as 'not good enough'. (However, I do understand comms which have like a minimum standard of icon quality, meaning reject ones that look like they've been made in paint.)
I simply love the Ewan icon. Use it a lot, too. :) And I think it's great that you're still pleased with it. You have all the reason to be!
All that looking and talking about icons in the last time has really made me want to icon again. Don't really have the time for that atm though. I did make my first icon texture/bases set today, though, which was incredibly much fun. :D
