exsequar: (SN My Fandom Has Winchesters)

So I realized I haven't posted in a while! (Read: in three days) I guess being home and doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING with myself doesn't give me much stuff to post about, huh. Ah well. There might also be that I spent the past couple days at darling Michelle's house hanging out with Sara, Fei, and Rob, which was lots of fun and I'm going to miss them all this summer :(

RPS in and around the SPN fandom amuses me. I mean, clearly Jensen/Jared is OTP like whoa, they're absolutely undeniable if you've seen the pictures or interviews, but the rest of it is just funny. Don't get me wrong, I find it all very entertaining and hot, just like the next fangirl! But when we start pairing up people who have never even met in real life? color me amused ^_^ And when four of them have paired off into two couples, I start thinking about the likelihood of even one or two of them actually being gay, and it's not very high ^_^

Although, I did have one thought - the theater geeks in high school are always stereotypically effeminate, or, in other words, gay (I don't mean actually gay, just considered that. I'm not making judgements, just commenting on a stereotype). So why should that change when they actually become successful actors? clearly it hasn't since we're slashing them out the wazoo! But it's not a popular social concept, for movie stars to be gay - so why is it true in high school, but not later on? Hmmmm! *gets thinky face on*

I thought I'd post the results of the Favorite Supernatural Episode poll, since I got over 50 responses! [livejournal.com profile] spn_newsletter is pretty awesome for spreading info, huh :)

Aaand the winner is....

1. Hell House! (10 votes)
2. Salvation (9)
3. Devil's Trap (8)
3. Faith (8)
5. Home (6)
6. Asylum (5)
7. Skin (4)

The rest got three votes or less. I must say I'm a little surprised by these results. I suppose Hell House is the favorite cause the boys are HAPPY and EEEE, but I thought the fans of this show were generally angst whores? I know I am. My favorite episode is Home, and that ep is ALL about the woobie. I'm also a little surprised at how high Asylum is on the list, it was never one of my all time faves.

On a related note, I'll bow to [livejournal.com profile] tallisen's wishes and order the episodes from my favorite to my least favorite!

1. Home
2. Salvation
3. Pilot
4. Nightmare
5. Devil's Trap
6. Faith
7. Dead in the Water
8. Scarecrow
9. Bloody Mary
10. Asylum
11. Skin
12. The Benders
13. Hell House
14. Dead Man's Blood
15. Provenance
16. Shadows
17. Something Wicked
18. Phantom Traveller
19. Wendigo
20. Hook Man
21. Bugs
22. Route 666

To be honest, this list doesn't really mean much. I compared it to the same thing I did a few nights ago in a notebook, and the only things the same are the first one and the last five. Everything else in the middle is almost completely jumbled. Basically what that shows is that I LOVE every single episode of this show, and it's almost impossible to choose which ones I like better. All I know is that Home owns my soul.

On another Supernatural note (is anyone surprised?), is it October yet??? Whenever I think about Winchestercon, this big goofy grin spreads across my face. I am SO excited, you guys. Especially since I might meet my SOUL MATE, [livejournal.com profile] candlesandcloth, aka Sarah, who will just have to come home with me after that weekend because I don't think I'll EVER be able to let go *clings to her*

I've watched the first 5 episodes of House, and while I find it greatly entertaining, I am not obsessed. Yet. It did take me a while to get completely OWNED by BSG, so we'll give it some time :) Wilson might be the cutest thing, um, EVER *pinches his cheeks*

Speaking of BSG, I bought this month's official magazine, it's so shiiiiiny with so many pretty pictures! *salivates* I hope they do an official magazine for Supernatural eventually!

And on yet ANOTHER fandom tangent, I'm still enjoying The O.C.. But this is on a purely fluff level, so don't anyone get worried, mmkay?

Ummm... I think that's about it! Sorry for boring y'all! *mwah*

(P.S. I have FIFTY NINE Supernatural icons uploaded!!! Obsessed much?)

Aaah, nice subject.

Think about it - in art circles generally the ratio of male homosexuals is higher than in the "rest of the population". I don't mean that in a bad way. It's just that typical high school drama dork-thingy. (Didn't Jensen or Jared say once they were one? Anyways.) And now consider one of my favorite quotes, I believe Ian McKellen said it some time ago, and I don't remember the exact words here, but its essence was that Hollywood is the only place with no gay people. None at all. If you think about it. Are there any major leading actor or actress being openly gay? Not for long, that's for sure. So that doesn't really work out, right? Art generally "attracting" gays and then Hollywood eliminating them all? No way. My conclusion: hollywood = one big gay CLOSET. And now, who could ever deny the slashiness of our pretty boys? *pets them* I mean, more often that not they are just begging to be slashed, so that's what we do. And while I don't think that all big actors are gay, I do think that there are quite a few who just don't dare to be out, because that's virtually the end of your career. I know there was a great article about this when BBM came out, how that won't change Hollywood yadda yadda, I think you might have even been the one to link to it. So yeah. It's not like all the gay drama dorks never make it to Hollywood, but they go and shut up about it.

And wow, I never would've expected those results for the poll! Personally, I just heart Provenance so much right now (I'm still in Sammycuddlymode, excuse me *goes and pets the sammy some more*), but after that Home and Nightmare are pretty high up in my ranking. I liked Asylum, but would never place it that high, and Hell House was funny, but it could've needed a bit more angst imho.

Anyways, I should stop writing long, rambling comments and instead eat something and then drag my ass to the doc. Whoo. -.- Sorry for any typos and weird thoughts and stuff, I'm actually still sick but just well enough to sit in front of my laptop again and since I didn't have it on at all yesterday I'm experiencing major withdrawal symptoms.

(P.S. NOT AT ALL ;))

Except me! ::runs::

Actually, there are a couple of very sane reasons why I don't do RPS. One, it is still weirdly squicky (I started reading a fic and couldn't even look at the names). And two, since they are REAL, I like to imagine them STRAIGHT, so that in the pretty world in my head I could actually date them. I'm just saying.

And Asylum is easily my favorite from the first half (Pilot second). I just rewatched it, actually, and there is nothing hotter than Sam shooting Dean, I tell you. I die every time. And then when Dean says "Do it!" at the exact same time Sam pulls the trigger...and keeps clicking. I don't know why, but I love that part to an insane degree. I'm just surprised Nightmare isn't higher up (I have this thing for violence, ok?).

I honestly can't pick a least favorite one. I mean, the ass-slap in Bugs makes the whole thing worth watching. *one track mind, woo!*

I like that almost everyone who's done this so far have put "Pilot" and "Home" up near the top. Those are so super cool! :)

When I think of Winchestercon I get extremely giddy but nervous, 'cuz I have to fly out there by myself, and I hate planes so bad. I'm much like Dean in that respect. But really, I don't think I'll be able to let go of any of my LJ friends after that. I don't wanna have to leave, and I'm not even there yet!!

I am going to Winchestercon *officially*!! The lovely [livejournal.com profile] pasdoll, [livejournal.com profile] kymbr, and [livejournal.com profile] darkhecatemoon (above!) accepted me as a 4th roomie! So once I send in money and such, I'm in! :D See you there!

It was so weird not having you around for a couple of days! Cause you usually post like crazy (and I love it. :D)

Oooh, Home only made no. 5? That is weird. I don't know about everyone else, but I am DEFINITELY an angst whore.

Ahhh yay I'm glad you're liking House so far. :D Give it some time, you just might become obssesed. And Wilson really is the cutest thing EVER. It gets better every single week. I love him to no end. :D

Hey I watch the O.C. It's fun. Seth rocks my world. I'm waiting for the finale cuz I want to know what Imogen Heap song is gonna be played THIS year. Last year it was "Hide and Seek."

I like Jsquared cuz they're undeniable hams together in photo sessions, and they play off well together personality-wise, and sometimes the fangirl in me will read their RPS, but for the most part... I don't believe that they really fancy each other.
