Apr. 5th, 2005 04:36 pmSo I lost a pint of blood today. And therefore saved about three lives. Yay me :)
While I was waiting at the donation place, there was music playing, and gradually I realized it was really familiar. Then I realized that it was "Let's Hear it For the Boy," a song I really like from Queer as Folk :) A slightly different version but I could still sing along. It was fun.
The blood donation itself was fine. The needle barely hurt at all (even though it's not really a needle, more like a tube with a sharpened/slanted end, and friggin ginormous looking) and I didn't feel faint or anything at all. I did get to come home early because I couldn't do dance due to the possibility of fainting or some such. Haha.
There was this lady who made a presentation about female explorers in history (She's an explorer herself, done things like retrace the path of Alexander the Great through the deserts of Africa - intense stuff) and it was really interesting. Girl power! :)
I got yet another letter from Rensselaer, this one informing me that I've won the President's Award; this means that I receive their spiffy laptop for free. So now I basically have two identical offers from the schools I got into! Ahhh decisions decisions. So it looks like I'm going to go visit both of them, to *try* to decide.
I'm gonna go take a nap.
