It's 3 AM and I just got home, after being out since 8 PM. Sounds all exciting doesn't it? Well, tonight was an amazing night, I LOVED it. Listing what I did will make me a major dork, but dude, you're all dorks too, so IT'S ALL GOOD.

I had a choir performance at 8:30, that ended around 10, it went fine. I went back with my friends Sara, christina, and Michelle, and in the process met their friends Andrea and Stacy, and Stacy's boyfriend Ian who's visiting for the weekend. I really like them all already, and I've only known them for a few hours ^_^ We went to Michelle and Sara's room to get some stuff, and while there picked up another one of their friends, Heather. Then we went over to Stacy and Andrea's suite (they share it with two other girls... they're sophomores) and PLAYED GAMES, woohoo! We played Taboo, which is similar to $100 Thousand Dollar Pyramid, and then Guesstures, which is charades with a silly doohickey that makes things more complicated than need be, haha. We had a fantastic time, laughing our heads off, and I really like Ian because he totally put up with all the giggling and even enjoyed himself. Very cool guy.

So by this time it was 1 AM and we're like... Let's watch Firefly!!! My three original friends (Sara, christina, and Michelle) are big Firefly fans like me (they're the ones I saw SERENITY!!! with last night) and Stacy and Andrea wanted to know what the hell this show WAS. So since their DVD player was broken, we traipsed back to Michelle and Sara's room, made popcorn, and started the pilot, Serenity parts 1 and 2. It was SO much fun watching with a bunch of other people, especially people who were new to it. Hearing their reactions... fantastic. They LOVED it! Stacy was a bit confused, but Andrea was right into it from the very beginning. When it ended, it was almost 3 AM and Andrea was like... I'd really really like to watch another, BUT it's 3 AM. Alas. Ian said he could totally watch the pilot again right away and not be bored at all. EEE! I love them all :D So we're totally gonna be watching more this week, and then we're going to see SERENITY!!! again next weekend! YAY!

Also, I mentioned it briefly in an earlier post, but I have ALSO converted my friend Rob to the light side (it's not the dark side! Anyone who hasn't seen Firefly is totally in the dark, haha). I've shown him Serenity, The Train Job, and Bushwhacked so far, and he loves it. Some parts of his reactions are a little off in my opinion (he HATES the theme song o.O and he finds it amusing that prostitutes could ever be respectable. I mean I know it's a weird idea at first, but he just laughs about it all the time. Slightly misogynistic. But whatever.) but he still enjoys it greatly.

Something interesting that I've observed is that one of the things people react to most is the unpredictability of the show, while at the same time its incredibly satisfying element. cases in point:
Some spoilers for the first episode of Firefly )

Ummmmm... I LOVE FIREFLY. Yay. I also LOVE MY FRIENDS. More yay. Friends make me happy.

Side note: Walking home 45 minutes ago, I passed two people supporting a third, a girl who looked so ridiculously drunk she wasn't even aware of her surroundings. Um. That looks like fun. NOT. I think I would much rather spend the night laughing and goofing off with awesome people than that. DUH.

EEEEEE!!!

SARAHSARAHSARAHGUESSWHAT!!!!

NATHAN IS A SIMON/RIVER SHIPPER!!!!

*dead*

Okay, coherency would be good...

I'm watching the commentary on the Firefly pilot, Serenity, with Nathan Fillion and Joss Whedon (SO good.. I love these guys) and they got to the shot where Simon is holding River's hand, the blue-ish shot, you know what I mean, and Joss says that it's his favorite shot in the entire show, and Nathan says, "That shot says a lot about that relationship, which, by the by, is my favorite relationship, on the program." and Joss says, "It is mine too."

EEEEEEEEE! *dead of the happy*

ETA: Holy shit. I just capped the entire Pilot, parts one and two, and I got SEVEN HUNDRED caps!!! That's almost twice as many as I took for Velvet Goldmine! (Although I haven't done the whole movie by any means). But damn! I had no idea I took THAT many. I blame it on the ENTIRE cast being ridiculously pretty and cappable. Now I can make icons, yay!
