exsequar: (Toothpaste?!)
HI FLIST!

I am bouncy and perky and WHEE. And it's Valentine's Day! This is a totally and utterly unprecedented occasion.

FIRST of all, Rach wrote me fic!! Beautiful, schmoopy puppy fic!! Typically Perfect - Remus/Sirius - PG-13 I love it and I love her!!! *snuggles her to death*

And secondly, I just had an awesome day. It was long and tiring and jam packed, but FUN. I'm thinking that Professor Nesteruk, and all the authors we're reading for Pursuit of Happiness, are right - you're only really happy when you DO things, when you're with people and getting things done and having a blast at the same time. Here's what I did today:

  • 9:00 AM - Linear Algebra. A bit boring and I was half asleep. My awesome day had not started yet.
  • 10:30 AM - Pursuit of Happiness. Better! We take these quiz things from a book we're reading. In the past we've done Optimism tests and the like. I usually score as uber pessimistic or negative or various bad things. But today we took a test that identify your signature strengths! Mine were Humor, Loving (and the ability to be loved), and Appreciation of Beauty. Which is just so me and it made me happy to know that appreciating things like music and film and nature and just everything around you is a STRENGTH. Awesome. Also, I love Jill. And Sean.
  • 12:00 PM - Meeting for prospective chemistry/biochemistry majors. Of which I am the latter. I learned some interesting things, the best being that they've NEVER had a chemistry major NOT get into graduate school. And usually the money is great, and mostly Top 40 schools. Um, future on a platter much? YES. So basically, score.
  • 1:30 - 4 PM - Work. Not so much with the awesome, as I was exhausted and falling asleep the whole time. But I got to listen to music, so that's always good.
  • 6:00 PM - SPEED DATING. I'll talk about this more in a bit.
  • 7:15 PM - choir. Which was fine, I was on a bit of a high from the speed dating so I wasn't half asleep and it was all good. Although I wasn't next to Sara or Jill *tear*
  • 9:00 PM - Selling MUDDY BUDDIES (best snack ever. AND I DIDNT GET TO HAVE ANY *pout*) door to door in my dorm with Sara to raise money for Oxfam. Some amusing moments, plus it's for a good cause! (Oxfam is a hunger organization, and we're raising money for this program by which 19 cents buys a lunch for a kid in a third world country. Pretty amazing.)
  • 10:30 PM - Vagina Monologues. Pretty much awesome. Hilarious and touching and poignant and powerful and empowering. WOW. If you ever get to chance to see it, I highly recommend it.

So that was pretty much the most ridiculously jam packed day, um, EVER. But that's what made it awesome! Pretty much all the evening things were voluntary, so that was great.

Speed Dating! Okay, I was petrified. I got that nasty squirmy feeling in my stomach beforehand. But it was GREAT. Just fun conversations with sweet guys. I didn't like fall madly head over heels for any of them or anything, but I just had a really good time! I think I have this apprehension about social situations, but I'm actually quite personable and really loosen up when it actually comes to talking to somebody. I laugh a lot. That might be scary. Ummm and also when I say I'm majoring in Biochem, people kinda raise their eyebrows and go "whoa". Haha. And the most common next question was "Uh... what do you plan to do with that?" and then I get to be all geeky and say I want to be in a lab for the rest of my life! Mwaha. It was all basics really, like where you come from, major, extracurriculars, etc etc. We only had five minutes, which usually felt like TWO. Honestly, the bell would ring and we would look up like huh??? And it was very disappointing. But that's a good sign!

It was interesting because I knew pretty much all of the faces of these guys, I see them around a lot - two of them are even in my chem class. But I didn't know barely any of their names, and had never spoken to them! So it was great to put a personality to the face finally. We coerced PJ into doing it, and I had a great time talking to him. He's so shy and bashful and I just love getting him to laugh and talk. I may have a wee crush on him. Shhh. Louis was there too, and he is always a hoot. We starting geeking it up about Star Wars and LotR, schweet. And Matt was there, who I had lunch with through mutual friends a couple times, and he's just a really cool guy. And let's see, I'm trying to remember all their names for future reference... Keenan, David, Sergio, Manny, uhhh... Crys... hmm. I know there's a couple I'm missing. Oh well.

So I marked down the ones I liked (pretty much all of them!) and I think I get an email if any of them marked me down too. So we'll see if I do!

You may notice that there was no mention of Supernatural anywhere in there. And it's Tuesday! BLASPHEMY! I didn't get to watch because I was selling Muddy Buddies with Sara. But I hear it was awesome and incestuous! Which rocks my socks. It's downloading from a torrent right now, but mostly because I just need to have some indication that I'm getting sort of close to watching it, but I'll probably download it from... another source tomorrow. Which will be much faster.

Anyway. I LOVE THE WORLD AND I LOVE YOU ALL. MWWWWWAH!
