Echoes, silence, patience, & grace
Sep. 26th, 2007 07:46 pmHad another day on my lonesome in Dublin today, but it was quite nice. Sun peeked through the clouds liberally, and it never rained! \o/ I spent my afternoon in the National Museum of Archaeology and History - that was really cool.
Alright, here I am 5 hours later - I got cut off in the middle of making this post because my taxi arrived! It took me to my new apartment, which is quite lovely except for a few small things. The doors squeak obnoxiously (all of them! it's kind of a problem) and um. NO INTERNET. However, we seem to have found a wireless network that we can mooch off of. It'svery slow and some things don't seem to work (like AIM or Gchat, sigh) (ETA: It has sped up, and AIM is working! HUZZAH!) but at least I'm no longer on the verge of tears because of being cut off from the whole damn world.
My dad isn't answering his phone, which makes me sad in the face :( And heart. And tummy. Sigh.
My roommates are nice enough. Four girls, one apartment - could get messy. We're warming up to each other though, I think thing's should work fine. The living area is reeeally nice - two lovely squishy couches and a big dining table. The kitchen is also good sized and stocked with pans and dishes and all that good stuff. My closet is a little bit tiny, unfortunately - the other girl snagged the bigger closet, and she has about a third as many clothes as me, it sucks a little bit. Then again, I may have brought waaaaay too many clothes. Um. Maybe. My hoodies are hanging on the closet handle and there are.... five of them. Whoops?
I uploaded a bunch of pictures, if anyone cares to take a look! I got some really cool shots, in my opinion. There's the whole week's worth of pictures in there - some of Trinity, a lot of the Guinness Storehouse, including me and Bec being adorable together, and just random shots of Dublin and the Irish countryside from when I took the bus back from Belfast.
Dublin - Week the First
( Some of my favorite shots )
Ugh, I'm so glad to have internet, you have no idea. *clings to you all*
I bought the new Foo Fighters album today - IT'S BEAUTIFUL. Seriously, I love it so much. I listened to the second song (I already knew the first) while walking through Dublin and it gave me chills. I was absolutely swept away. If you like the Foos at all, you should get the album. This song (Home) actually makes me cry a bit, because it's got the lyrics "All I want is to be home." Way to mess with my homesickness there, guys. But yeah, it's the Foos at their best - driving melodic rock mixed with gorgeous acoustic pieces. Gah, I love them. I think I've finally found the album that will distract me from Decaydance!
Alright, enough rambling. I'm working on a massive bandom picspam, so keep an eye out for that! :D
