I have done a pretty massive overhaul of my icons recently, so I think it's time for the icon meme again. I never ever tire of looking at my beautiful little 100 pixel boxes. I have a rather irrational attachment, actually.
( Little boxes of love! )That was fun! \o/
Now I have to share with you guys this utter gem of a MCR interview I unearthed at the Immortality Project. It's from 2004 (huh, I thought it was earlier. anyway!) and it's from Hellfest. Mikey has his poofy lesbian hair which he keeps carefully arranging so
you can't see his face at all, Gerard's in a puffy vest and looking both eager and unsure of himself, and Frank has a buzzcut and is tiny and precious. They are all terribly awkward, and the interviewer clearly trying to get a "meaningful" interview and failing spectacularly.
Interviewer: "So what are you guys all about, what's up with My Chemical Romance?"
Gerard: "Partying. We're all about the party!"
Frank: "We bring the party, actually. We have a party in the back of the trailer. You open the doors and, like, girls come out, and there's a ball--"
Mikey: "Bears on unicycles."
AHAHAHAHA. But wait. IT GETS BETTER.
Interviewer: "Do you guys have something special that you're bringing to Hellfest? Some sort of message that you want kids to know about, anything like that?"
Frank: *squinting into the sun* "We're here to save kids' lives."
Gerard: "Yeah."
Interviewer: "What are you doing to save kids' lives?"
Gerard: *thinks for a moment* "Bringing a message."
*Frank cracks up*
Interviewer: "And the message is that you're saving kids' lives?"
Mikey: "It's a rock and roll exorcism, dude."
*diiiies* A ROCK AND ROLL EXORCISM, YOU GUYS. And they're BRINGING A MESSAGE. They have no idea what it is, but THEY HAVE ONE. AND IT WILL SAVE KIDS' LIVES. Ahahaha. Oh my god. I guess it took you a little while to build up that rambly eloquence, huh Geeway? *draws hearts* I LOOVE THEMMMM.
You can download the interview as a part of a large (~100 MB) bundle of videos from Hellfest (there's also a video of them doing Vampires, with kids jumping up on stage to leap onto the ground, and hanging off Gee and singing into the mic with him, it's INSANE) over at www.theimmortalityproject.com under the videos section. But I've also uploaded it separately because the interview alone is only 8 MB.
Hellfest interview - MCR as awkward dorks!Ahahaha. They are so fucking precious, you guys.
