So I've seen the first three episodes of Prison Break S1.
1) Wentworth Miller is PRETTY. Good lord. (But NOT as pretty as Jensen. This is my resolve face.)
2) Wentworth Miller is talented! Quite talented, really. Quietly intense, with a real intelligence in his eyes (his pretty, pretty eyes).
3) The thing about Michael is that yes, he's brilliant, and I bet this plan is spectacular, but he forgot to take into consideration the true randomness of human behavior. Especially prison inmate behavior! He's getting foiled at every turn (and clearly it wouldn't be a drama without that) and I like that - the tension of Michael's will being tried over and over again, and his struggle to find ways to overcome every obstacle.
4) There is so much love there between Michael and Lincoln, there really is. It doesn't ping me nearly as much as Sam and Dean (um, yes, everything gets compared to Supernatural, why do you ask?) but the circumstances are very different, and there's certainly room for development there.
5) The scene between Lincoln and his son made me want to cry.
6) I don't like Veronica. I really don't. There's something about the actress's mannerisms, or something - I just don't like her.
7) I do, however, adore the prison doctor lady. (I haven't picked up her name yet - what is it?) She's sweet and genuine. I like her and Michael together a whole lot.
8) Not Michael's TOES! *shudders*
9) Mostly T-Bag just creeps me out right now.
10) Sucre is a sweetheart, and it sucked how Michael and Lincoln played him - I completely don't blame him for blowing up and ditching Michael. I mean c'mon, his conjugals! Even though they're with a chick who's totally cheating on him.
I'm definitely sucked in, and will be inhaling the first season in short order so I can start watching the second! Yay!
In other TV thoughts, I rewatched Dead Man's Blood (SPN ep 20) tonight. For some reason, I haven't rewatched it many times, but I do love that episode!
Winchester drama! "You were just pissed off you couldn't CONTROL me anymore!" Dean-in-the-middle! John being REALLY FUCKING SEXY and you can so believe he begat these two gorgeous specimens of humanity. "I spent it on ammo." Smiley!Winchesters! Dean and Sam eyefucking ALL OVER THE GODDAMN PLACE. Dean and Sam sleeping in almost the same exact position! Dean pulling Sam away from Luther and then continuing to touch him for the entire scene! John's tricked out Metallitruck! Unison "Yes, sir"! Sam's shockedface when Dean stands up to Papa! "Terrific."
I LOVE THIS FAMILY SO FREAKING MUCH. And watching this episode makes me hope that John doesn't die, because while he makes things a lot more angsty and tense when he's around, he also makes everything a lot more interesting, and plus he's hot. And JDM is really quite talented. So. It would be way too early in the show to lose that asset. I was ambivalent for a while (mostly I was clinging to the brothersonaroadtripsharingmotelroomsalone formula of the first season - I'm starting to accept the show HAS to take a different direction eventually) but I think I've landed firmly in the "Keep John Alive" camp. Yay for me.
Yay for really really hot brothers! *twirls*
