Heroes 2x04 Kindness of Strangers

Oh my god Heroes is AMAZING!!! Seriously, this season is pwning me. I'm as surprised as you, I was rather ambivalent towards last season, but there's so much I love right now!!


Thoughts in a completely random order:

I'm liking Nathan a lot more now. That scene with his little boys totally broke my heart. I think it's something about the beard - my dad has a black (well, salt and pepper) beard too, and it gets curly when he lets it grow a little longer than usual, and have I mentioned recently that I love my dad? Anyway, yes, good associations, so I'm all warmfuzzy toward poor Nathan right now. The beard actually softens him up a lot - after he shaved, he looked really harsh again! But still all sad and woobietastic, so yes. Poor Nathan :( And MOURNING FOR HIS PETE. *SNIFF*!!!

And okay, I don't Petrellicest, I just don't, but:

AT THE BOTTOM. AND THE MIDDLE. THEY WENT TO PROM TOGETHER, GUYS. SDLFKSLJDF. LOOK AT THEM! Awwwwwwwww my HEART.

And ALSO...

BABY MILO! HEEE. *pinches his cheeks*

My favorite storyline right now is Claire and West. THEY'RE SO CUTE OKAY??? HET OTP HET OTP! Can I have a West of my very very own? SERIOUSLY. His big brown eyes! His slightly lopsided smile! His absolute determination to not let Claire slip away from him! UGH I LOVE THEM. Of course there will be angst ahead, and there already is with Claire lying to her daddy (who snatched West away that time, ohnoes!) and and this just can't end well, but for now they are just SO DARLING. Thus, have a minispam of them!










SO PRECIOUS!

And while we're on the Bennets,

he's got his Stern Daddy face on! THAT SHOULDN'T BE HOT! *hides face* (This show makes me think really inappropriate things about a whole HOST of daddies. HOW DISTURBING! Freud would have a field day. As would Sophocles. *facepalm*)

And oh look who's next!

MOLLY HAS TWO DADDIES! This storyline is seriously so precious. Matt/Mohinder = ♥!! They bicker like a married couple already, now they just need the other half of the equation! Bwee. They are both SO CUTE with Molly, hugging and comforting her and calling her sweetheart and kissing her forehead and just. OVARIES GO BOOM.


Seriously.


Siiiigh.

But oh god, the last scene? *flails* Matt's voice breaking got me right in the gut, and oh oh MOLLY! I hope she's okay!!! *bites nails*

So the pattern that seems to be emerging is that the powers are definitely genetic, in that they are passed down by parents, or shared between siblings. That means these aren't just random mutations - and the children don't have the same power as their parents. Hmmm! Very odd. But we have the Petrellis (including Claire and her biomom), and Maja and Alejandro (which, boooring), and Hiro and his dad, and now Matt and HIS dad. Oh, and Micah and his cousin! The only example of the TYPE of power being linked is Maja and Alejandro though - I love their whole poison/antidote thing, it's AWESOME. That's what redeems their plotline for me.

I'm glad they didn't show Pete with the "Irish" chick this week. I love Peter, I really do, but this random girl getting gratuitously latched on to him is pissing me off. That whole story is. Pete falls in with a family of thieves and loves it SO MUCH that he doesn't want to find out his own identity? Um. OKAY. *headdesk*

Micah's cousin kind of annoys me. I don't think the actress is very good. I want more of the grandmother, she's awesome! But the girl's power is to... learn things from TV? Really? That's a really dumb power, lol.

Let's see, what else. Oh! I missed Ando and Hiro this week :( Other than that, awesome ep! I am so totally hooked :D

I don't think Monica's power is limited to the TV. Evidently she can 'mimic' whatever she sees exactly. She learns new skills at a high speed...but I wonder if she retains those new skills permanently, or if it's only a temporary phenomenon.

Are you sure? Because those were the only two examples we got (the tomato and the wrestling thing) and they zoomed in on the reflection of the TV in her eye pretty significantly... it would be better if you were right though!

I can't be absolutely certain, since this is the first we've seen of her. I'm guessing, though, that she can copy what she sees others do. We'll know more later in the season, I guess.

SQUEEE YES OMG on M3 = awesomest family ever. Also, I do Petrellicest, but it's not limited to the typical Nathan/Peter. My big "Heroes" het OTP is actually Claire/Peter. (Oh, come on! It's SO OBVIOUS!) I am enjoying West so far as an amalgam of Nathan and Peter (has emo bangs, can fly) that Claire can get down with comfortably, psychologically speaking.

I don't like Irish Girl, either. OMG PETER COME HOME!

Monica's power is taken from the "Daredevil" rogue's gallery, a char named Echo. Echo's ability is to copy anything she sees, no matter where she sees it. I think she actually read a book once and did something a character in it did. I don't think Monica's ability will be limited to the TV, as that would be lame, but then again...it'd be in keeping with the family's abilities being linked to technological transfer protocols. So we shall see.

M3 PWNS ME. I HEART THEM SO. They even surpess John/Rodney in their marriedness. Cause dude, they're living together and they have a kid. Kinda like a crossover between A Beautiful Lifetime Event and Heroes, no? :D
