I'm not sure the SNAPE fans will get that out of it (the Marauders thing, haha) but Snape fans have always scared me a bit so whatever.
As for Harry/Ginny, I agree that in real life that doesn't have to be true but fiction isn't real life, you know? In fiction, one of the things that's always hammered into the writer's head in any book, class or article on writing is that everything must happen for a reason and there must be no loose ends, ever. If you show it, it has to pay off somehow, not just fade away.
So yeah, that's why I expected it. Err, yeah. ... it's too hot to think. :)
