I just got back from my friend's gig! I am happily tipsy on two pints of Guinness, good times. (Neither of which were paid for me, SCORE. One of the perks of being a friend of the band :D) My friend's (Mick's) band was awesome! They don't really have lyrics, they're basically just lots of guitar and keyboard with some nifty effects. Mick is a REALLY good guitarist. I was mesmerized by his hands. He's really relaly good, y'all. It was so impressive. I look forward to seeing them again. The next band was so so, but the last band, the one that was releasing their EP, was tons of fun. A bit more screamo than I usually like, but they had THREE GUITARS and a bass and drums, and they were just rocking out and it was so much fun. A mosh pit formed in this tiny tiny club and this one guy was crowd surfing, it was kind of insane. I was just off to the side enough that I didn't get nailed in the head like a lodt of people, but I was in the front rwo which was so so cool.

I met loads of awesome people. Jill, Mick's keyboardist, is really sweet and funny. John, with the million piercings, also a sweetheart. Chris, random dude from North Carolina whose jacket I stepped on accidentally, and who proceeded to banter with me for like 5 minutes about it, he was hilarious. Lar, other Mick, Josh, Melinda, lovely girl from Kenya whose name I don't remember and couldn't spell, and tons of others whose names I fail at. Everyone was really cool and it was slightly awkward being this random (young!) American, but I look forward to possibly hanging out with them all more. Hurrah!

I am off to faceplant into bed.
