I myself would call this one a WIN WIN WIN.

Someone over at BMW got a raise! Hee.

Testing out the DW crossposting thingamajig... success!

Two DW questions: How does one edit a post without having to search for it through "Manage entries"? Also, most of my imported icons were inactivated since I didn't buy a paid account, but I just tried to use an inactive one on this post and it worked the first time, but has now reverted to the default as I'm editing this. I'm confused!

Same as on LJ! There should be a button somewhere on your layout. From the looks of things, it's probably in the blue box underneath your icon.

I have no idea what's up with the active/inactive icons. It might be a bug, so maybe submit a support request?

If you mouse over the "create" dropdown menu, you should get an "edit entries" option.

Yeah but that requires a lot of navigation. On livejournal, when I'm on my own journal I have a button on each post that lets me edit it directly. Most people do, as far as I know. I'm mostly being lazy but I'd like DW to be as convenient as LJ! (I definitely appreciate that that will take time - I was just wondering if I was missing some functionality right now.)

Um. Hmmm. Do you mean the main journal page or the individual entry?

Oh, hey, I see what you mean! I don't actually have that here on LJ unless I'm on the specific entry, but I do on DW, which is strange. Maybe it's just the layout you're using?

Well, both. I don't see an edit functionality on the individual entry either, but I was looking on the main journal page before.

That's really weird -- I have the edit button on both my main page and individual entries (custom comment pages or no (the second button in the little toolbar thing)). Um. I don't know?

Maybe it's just because I have a totally basic layout? How did you customize your layout like that? Is there a tutorial somewhere?

Possibly? I pretty much just found one I liked at [livejournal.com profile] thefulcrum and 'ported it over. (Which I only did because I found this tutorial on how to do that; here on LJ I have just been fucking with text/header/colors on Quite Lickable for as long as I have been modifying my layout.) If you do end up using a layout from LJ, though, be sure and follow these instructions or you will run into the same problem (lack of usernames on readpage) that I did, :|.

What cross-posting thingamajig?

Also I am waiting for you to reply to my comment to your Dollhouse entry because I just rewatched and noticed how EVERY TIME someone who might recognize him came by, Alpha hid his face but made it TOTALLY in-character. Like when Topher came by and was all "Hey, guy I don't know," Alpha swung himself COMPLETELY out of view. And he clearly DID know all of the shutdown protocols. I'm really interested in Alpha's composite event, and what he did to Echo's personality at the end. I'm so excited for it to be next Friday. Maybe I will even watch it as it airs. Joss is SO boss.

On Dreamwidth when you go to post an entry it has a tickybox you can choose to crosspost. Then it gives you a link to manage the accounts you crosspost too and you can choose to make it automatic every time.

Ooh that's a good catch on Alpha hiding his face every time! God, Alan was SO amazing. From hilarious loser to terrifying psychopath in the blink of an eye! <3333
