If you like the show, DO NOT read the books. Mostly I am annoyed by Sookie's ever-shifting attitude about her "gift", which she alternately views as a either useful or a disability. Pick one or the other, goddammit, and if you want to hang out with vampires b/c you're comfortable with them b/c you get no brainwaves from them, fine, but don't whine about how that sets you apart from other "normal" people when you MADE THAT CHOICE.
