A meme! This is a cute one though. And actually has real answers, instead of one word things.
1. What was the first car your family had?
Let's see. It was a Toyota... oh yes! A Toyota Tercel. It was a sedan, light blue (but bright... I don't know how to describe it). I think they drove me home in the hospital in that, and I still kind of remember it! It was a two door, and the last sedan we had (it's been all minivans and station wagons since).
2. What was the name of your first pet and why?
We didn't have very many pets at all. Never a dog or a cat cause my mom was allergic. So my first pet might have been Buster, a rabbit we got for free from some lady who couldn't keep it. It was an evil thing! Bit everyone. So we had to let it go in the "wilderness" of New canaan :P
3. What did you want to be when you grew up?
An architect! My third grade teacher taught me and two other students who weren't being challenged enough how to draw floor plans, and I enjoyed it so much. I would design houses through floor plans for fun.
4. What was the name of your elementary school?
King and Low Heywood Thomas (also my middle and high school too...)
5. Who was your first best friend?
Hmmmmm. Sarah Smith, maybe? I'm sure I had good friends before her, but she's the first that I distinctly remember (second grade).
6. Are you still friends today, and if not, what happened?
Nah. I switched best friends pretty much every year, haha. The only person I was best friends with in lower school and that I'm still friends with is Dana. Sarah was at my school until 6th grade, but we drifted long before that.
7. What was your favorite board game?
Hmmm. How old are we talking? I loved Trouble, and later on Monopoly, and ummm clue!
8. Did you play house or other make believe games?
Yup. I also really liked playing teacher for my younger siblings. I don't think they enjoyed it quite as much :P
9. Were you a Dungeons and Dragons geek?
How old are we talking? o.O But I was definitely a Pokemon geek - collected the cards (I cringe to think how much that cost) and played the game with my brother and our neighbor Sean (whom I still miss (we moved), he was a great friend).
10. Did you sleep with stuffed animals as a kid?
Kinda. I had several of them but I didn't much like actually sleeping with them. The only one that got that privilege was Berry (or Beary, I never had to write it down before...) the teddybear I got when I was a baby.
11. Do you still sleep with stuffed animals?
Nope.
12. Who was the first person you looked up to when you were younger?
Uh. My parents? *shrug*
13. Who was your favorite relative?
Well, now it's Meg, but I can't remember when I first started really getting to know her. All our relatives live several hours away, so it was just infrequent visits. So instead I would say my godparents Kelvin and Kathy, who are amazing.
14. Were you short or tall in elementary school?
Very short :(
15. Were you teased in school?
Yeah, a bit, for being smart and short (not at the same time, usually, but you know). However, it was all in good fun - my school was such that open teasing in a mean way was very rare. I encounter open disrespect now and it shocks me. I was very sheltered.
16. What was the name of your favorite teacher?
Oh man, I loved so many of them. Ms. O'Keefe (I still call her that, even though she got married the year I had her (second grade!) and is now Mrs. Raidt), Mrs. Eagleton, Mr. Reidel, Mrs. Tucker, and so on... (they're all still at the school, except Mrs. Tucker, which I find amazing).
17. What was the name of your least favorite teacher?
I didn't really have one! Mrs. Friedland was a bit strict, but still very kind. So instead I'll say a sub we had, Mrs. Bethray (we called her Mrs. Deathray behind her back) - HOWEVER, funny story.. I had Mrs. Bethray for chemistry last year, and she is such a sweet lady!! I absolutely adore her. She just has an accent that can be intimidating and I guess she was a little strict with us kids. Quite amusing ^_^
18. What was your best subject in school?
I was good at them all... Math always came really easy, but I was a couple years ahead in reading as well, and I loved Science. I also rocked at handwriting ;)
19. What was your worst subject in school?
Umm. Social Studies? History and related things have just never interested me much. I didn't do badly, I just didn't enjoy it as much.
20. Did you do well in Physical Education?
Yeah! I loved PE. Great gym teachers. My favorite game was Acid Swamp, or maybe Bombardment ^_^ We also had this extra dance program where we would learn dances for a few months and then perform them. It was SO much fun. I had a solo dance once! *nostalgia*
21. Were you clumsy when you were younger?
Um, not really.
22. Who was your favorite band as a kid?
I listened to Green Day's "Dookie" album incessantly, as well as Sheryl crow. Aaaaand... Mary-Kate and Ashley's mystery songs, or whatever.
23. What was your favorite movie as a kid?
Hmmmm. I loved The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, and ALADDIN. I was Jasmine for Halloween one year :)
24. Did your parents read to you?
Um, not very much. I just read to myself. I suppose they did sometimes though.
25. Did you have a favorite book?
Uhhhhhh. I don't think so. I just devoured books. I really liked the Boxcar Kids and the Babysitter's club though ^_^
26. What was your favorite restaurant as a kid?
I have no idea. Fuji I guess? (Japanese hibachi) I have no idea when we first went there, but it seems like it's been forever, and I've always loved it.
27. What TV or movie star did you have a crush on?
Errrrr. The guy from Saved by the Bell, Zach! Haha. And Jesse from Full House :D
28. Do you now wonder what you were thinking?
No, I still think they're hot *grins*
29. Who was your first crush in school?
Peter Venetos. He was reeeeally tall and I chased him around trying to kiss him in Kindergarten. I liked him all through lower school, then I got over it. Another funny story? He started liking me in 11th grade, and I just got weirded out. We fought all the time >.<
30. As a child, what kind of car did you want when you grew up?
I had a weird fascination with small hatch backs. I wanted a VW Golf like no other!
31. Did your parents spank you?
Nah.
32. Did your parents fight a lot when you were a kid?
Not when I was really young, but as the years went on, and having three kids took its toll, yeah. A lot.
33. Did your parents get divorced or stay married?
Divorced.
34. If they got divorced, how old were you when it happened?
14. Perfect starting high school present.
35. Did you ever run away from home?
Never. I was too cowardly, combined with too much common sense - I knew I wouldn't make it anywhere!
36. How old were you when/if you first got glasses?
Never, woohoo.
37. Did you need braces or a retainer?
Never! Woohoo again :D
38. If you're male, how old were you when you had your first wet dream?
39. Both sexes, when did you start shaving?
Well I remember my friend Liz teaching me, so probably when I was about... 13.
40. Girls when did you start wearing a bra?
Hmmmm. I don't really know, actually. Probably around 12 or 13.
41. What was your first kiss like?
...I haven't had one yet......
42. What did you do on your first date?
NA.
43. How old were you when you first drank?
I've never really drank any amount at all. Last year, I went with my friends to Lily's house to try it and I sipped at a cranberry and vodka and a rum and coke (which tasted vaguely like mango) but it was gross. Haven't drank since.
44. Where was your first house?
Norwalk, in an area I haven't been too in many years, even though I lived in another place in Norwalk for 8 years after we moved (when I was 3).
That was kinda fun ^_^
