I'm sorry to hear that :(

I did stay on the wait list, for three different schools. Williams, Amherst, and Brown. I didn't get in at any of them, and I didn't find out definitively until the middle of the summer. So in the meantime I still had some hope, only for it to come to nothing. I ended up at Franklin & Marshall college, which is a good school, but yeah, it was my backup. I do look back at that whole process with some regret. However, I got a large scholarship here, where I wouldn't have gotten any at those three schools (they don't do academic scholarships). And additionally I found the two best friends I could ever hope to have here, as well as lots of other lovely friends, and all in all I'm quite happy.

So I guess it's up to you, but to be very honest the chances of getting in off the waitlist are very low. I would almost say spare yourself the anguish. But I couldnt bear to just let that chance slip, and so I didn't - it depends on if you're willing to deal with the uncertainty for a while longer. With a low chance of anything coming of it.

There's not a right or wrong thing to do in this situation. It does sound like you're in exactly the situation I was, heh. I hope things work out for you!
