exsequarEEEEEE! *FLAPPYHANDS* X-FILES TWO IS PROBABLY A GO!
I just got my new Entertainment Weekly and there's a sidebar about a new X-Files movie that's almost definitely going to happen! YAAAAY!

OMGYAY. This sounds SO perfect!! I had no idea how they were going to do a second movie, but skipping ahead four years sounds excellent! Maybe Mulder and Scully will be in an established relationship, which is what the sappy romantic in me wants - you know? Just like the casual affection and everything and awwww. But best of all, they're breaking away from the mythology that killed the show in the first place! I am SO excited guys. *dances*

X-Files fans may never get closure from the show - but they'll at least get some answers in a second movie. EW has learned that David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson are both on board. Plus, "we've worked out most of the plot," says X-Files exec producer Frank Spotnitz, who checked in to promote the DVD of his canceled series, Night Stalker. ("People never got to see one of the best episodes we did!") The sequel will be light on mythology - "It's very liberating to be freed from that," he says - and picks up four years after the 2002 TV finale that left Mulder and Scully on the run from the FBI. The only hurdle before filming can start: X-Files creator Chris Carter and 20th Century Fox have to settle their suit over syndication profits.

I can't believe it's finally happening! I've been waiting for this for so long!.
