exsequar: (Kane sing your heart out)
Item the 1st: Went to New York City today for the Save Darfur rally! It was a gorgeous day, and lots of people showed up. Content wise it was very similar to the DC one last year, but it was more about showing up and showing our support than anything. Madeleine Albright was there, but we only caught the end of her speech. All around it was really cool to just be around all those people joined for this cause, but it's still kind of disheartening because there's so little we can do.

I took a few pictures, I'll put them up at some point, but not right now because it's 11:30 and the ride back took over 5 hours *facepalm* I'm very, very tired, and I still have to finish touching up this essay for tomorrow, and I have class at 8 AM. Siiiiigh.

Item the 2nd: There was this band there called Big & Rich, from Nashville, and they reminded me *so much* of Kane. Two guys playin guitars, one of them wearin a cowboy hat (he said he was from Texas!) and their music was the same kind of fun country. They played this song, "Love Train," that reminded me a lot of House Rules - fun and catchy :D I enjoyed them muchly. Their website is here: http://www.bigandrich.com/ I'm listening to the songs on their front page and they're really good!

Item the 3rd: Quotation found on [livejournal.com profile] beerbad's user info:

"For some reason, I just want things to be as gay as possible." - Ben Edlund

Yeah, guess who's a writer next season on Supernatural? That's right - Ben Edlund! Teehee! \o/

Item the 4th: I LOVE my Sammy. To tiny bits and pieces. His battery lasted through writing a whole essay and watching one episode each of House, Prison Break, and Supernatural! Hee. Definitely helped with the 8 hours I had to spend on the bus. And I am totally trying to convert Fei to Supernatural now, whee :D

That's it! Off to finish this essay then get some SLEEP.
