Eeeee. I just had a great meeting with my professor (I'm supposed to call him Jason!) where we discussed the papers I've been reading and talked about current goals and broader directions. He was really pleased and impressed with how much of a grasp I've already got on the literature for this topic. He even said "You're doing an excellent job with this, and I'm... not" since he's been too busy to think about this project in detail recently. It made me grin like a total idiot. And as he was sort of expanding on his ideas for the project he said "This is more of a thesis project... a really cool project, I'd be jealous!" and dude, I waaaaant this project, I REALLY DO.

I LOVE THIS WORK. It's just... so fascinating and I can really see the huge possible implications of it, and the day to day work is totally varied enough to keep me more than engaged, and it's just REALLY FUCKING COOL omg. I even got up the balls to ask him if he'll be taking on new full time students in the coming year and he said totally and ahhhh I want I want I WANT. This is an incredible lab to be a part of.
