SPN Friday Five, and plague woes
Oct. 20th, 2006 11:08 am1. Did you really start watching for the plot? Sorta? Ummm. I knew two things: 1) Jared Padalecki was in it, and 2) a girl on my flist was going absolutely BONKERS over this show. So I started watching out of curiosity. And THEN, I happened to see Bloody Mary and I was like holy CRAP this show is all with the intense emotional and scary stuff, ROCK ON. So I guess I did kinda start watching for the plot. I DIDNT EVEN THINK JENSEN WAS HOT AT FIRST :O I know, WHAT?
2. If the show focused on two sisters instead of two brothers, would you still watch it? That's a no.
3. In what other ways do you think the demon can be killed? Hmmm. I can't even begin to guess at that. I mean, would any of us have guessed an enchanted Colt thingamabob? They'll come up with something. Maybe they have to toss the demon into the Hellmouth at Stull Cemetary outside of Lawrence. Kripke did say it was significant!
4. How well do you think Kripke manages to balance out the scary/action/angst/humor in this series? And what do you think of how he manages to get the viewers to see things from the other perspective? Dude. BRILLIANCE. The best thing about this show is how it brings every single aspect with just as much skill. And that is largely in thanks to the brilliance of Jared and Jensen. OH JSQUARED WE LOVE YOU. They can go from heartwrenching emotional outpouring to adorable banter in 1 second flat. *draws hearts*
5. Who is your favourite guest star so far? And why? I would actually probably have to say ASH. I love Ash. A lot. A whole freaking lot. He's just this laid back awesomely cool guy who takes Dean's slight assholeness totally in stride and manages to make Dean totally warm up to him. He's brilliant and snarky and DUDE HE SO DRANK FROM DEAN'S BEER BOTTLE. Ash >>> the world. The end. (On a less EEEOMG level, I'd have to say... Julie Benz as Layla. She was fabulous.)
In other news, 8 AM classes suck like a sucking thing. In other words, A LOT. And having a wet hacking cough during them? Exactly zero fun. I am also not looking forward to four hours of organic chem lab whilst feeling like I want to die. *facepalm*
I enjoyed the episode last night, and I just sort of rewatched it, but it's definitely a "watch - fast forward - watch - fast forward..." kind of episode, because there were large chunks (ie, any part with those lame actresses, ugh) that I just don't want to ever watch again. Bloodlust? I can watch the whole thing straight through any number of times. This one, though... no thanks.

Date: 2006-10-20 04:07 pm (UTC)As someone who loves the South, it's very refreshing to see a hick who's not:
#1.) The "scary" hick. OMG he'll rape us all! Men and women! And then eat us! And knock up his sister!
#2.) The funny hick. Oh hicks. You're so funny.
Ash was very amusing, but not like...the slapstick humor that hicks get. Like "Oh, they think the Civil War is still going on!" or whatever. He was a legitimate character.
Rock on SPN.

Date: 2006-10-21 12:19 am (UTC)Dude, me too! I was sitting there thinking, "Why are the girls drooling over Dean? Shouldn't they be trying to jump Sam?" But then, slowly, I realized that Jensen Ackles is made of pure sex.
Also, Ash is the shit.

I also really like your idea how to tie Stull Cemetary into the story *deep in thought chin strokage* Could make sense.

Gee, darlin', I never would have guessed that you'd say ASH as soon as I saw the question. No siree. :P
