So Mona's having a yucky day. I opened up a comment to her post and pondered what i could do to make it better - and it came to me: MCSHEP! Of course! :D So I jammed this out in about 10 minutes. It's just a fun, silly minificlet in which Rodney crushes on John, hee. Posting here to save for my own records, and for any amusement anyone might get out of it ^_^ So, TADA! My first SGA fic-type-thing because these boys have EATEN MY BRAIN.

Rodney thinks John is hot. Like, really hot. He doesn't admit it to himself in as many words, and he would most certainly never say it out loud, but he knows it's true. He finds his eyes fixed on those full, smirky lips as they drawl out any number of statements that Rodney knows are 94% incorrect, so distracting that he often can't bring himself to correct the falsehoods. It's better than the average 97% anyway (John surprises him that way - a slightly more-intelligent-than-simian brain under that ridiculous hair!) and anyway, those lips. And Rodney was never a fan of the military types - always parading around like they could solve anything, until, of course, a real problem came along and they prostrated themselves at the feet of the brains of the operation to fix everything - but somehow Rodney even finds John shooting things ridiculously sexy. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that John doesn't act military in the slightest - he seems like he'd be more at home on the beaches of California, with that attitude - but even when he gets all tight-assed and snapping orders at everyone... hot.

Rodney tells himself it's ridiculous. Utterly ridiculous, and since when does he look at men that way anyway? It's not like he's exhausted the entire female population of Atlantis as prospects. Really! There's still... one or two... possibilities... oh nevermind that! The point is, he's not that desperate! But the thing is... John's prettier than most girls. Much prettier. And once Rodney has that thought, he knows he's completely and utterly fucked. Metaphorically speaking.

Except, of course, when John is screwing him deep into his prescription mattress and actually succeeding in distracting Rodney's mind from his current pet project for more than five seconds, which is itself a miracle. Then, he knows, he's well and truly fucked, and he wouldn't have it any other way.

ETA: HOMG. Jack and Kate, reunited! This is making me get all flappy and misty guys! Titanic was totally the first thing I ever REALLY fangirled. *happy happy sigh* Look at his hand on her back! So sweet. :D And they've both grown UP so MUCH! Don't get me wrong, I love me some fresh boyfaced Leo, but he's simply HOTASS now, and Kate is just a goddess.
