Hee, I just had a really fun assignment for my race relations in America class - we were given a bunch of excerpts from various race related writings, from all sides of the issue: stuff from the KKK, from slave owners back in the day, an academic essay about unearned white privilege, an article about the genetic mutation for white skin being found, etc etc. The assignment was to pretend we were on a team that had landed on a "burned-out carcass of a planet" and found this box labeled "Debates on Race in America," containing these documents. We had to write a brief for our superior officer trying to explain what this strange word "race" means.

And I went - HEE! So, I've just landed in a puddlejumper from the gate, right, and this world was culled brutally by the Wraith, RIGHT? And I'm of course reporting to Lt. Colonel Sheppard! *laughs* Basically I had a ball coming up with the following header for my "brief":

Galaxy: Milky Way (RRX131)
Planet: Earth (A15X4)
Team: Jumper Two
Commanding Officer: Lt. Colonel Alec Sheppard
Reporting Analyst: Dr. Anne Gillies

I am silly and geeky and PROUD OF IT :D I actually have no idea if he's going to collect this, but who cares - I am amused :D

And now to go get another dose of SGA because I'm seriously going through withdrawal. (Wow guys, I now have NINE SGA icons uploaded. What is going on!)
