SGA omg *falls over*

exsequar*squeeflails* I LOVE THIS SHOW MORE THAN I CAN EXPRESS.
Last night, I made the questionable decision to stay up until after 2 AM watching SGA 3x10 and 11 - The Return parts 1 and 2, even though I had class at 8 AM *facepalm* I was regretting it today, as I could barely see straight, even with coffee, and ended up napping from 8-9 PM :-/ BUT! The sheer joy of these episodes was nearly worth it. And then I watched 3x12 Echoes today. SO MUCH LOVE LSKJFLSDKFJ.
Omg, THE RETURN WAS SO GOOD. The first half was the best, with everyone having to LEAVE and the subsequent emotional goodbyes, with everyone so unused to expressing emotions trying so hard to say everything they felt. I kept thinking that this was like that amazing fic "Freedom's Just Another Word..." but in REVERSE - the affirmation and celebration of everything Rodney felt the acute loss of in the story. I mean, the being split up part wasn't the reverse, but what everyone was saying was, and then when they came back together it was like that fic turned into a happy ending. It added an extremely emotional layer to the entire thing that I absolutely loved.
I loved John's goodbye to Ronon and Teyla. How they both offered to have the other come/stay with them, because it was breaking their hearts to be taken apart. And how John offers them his Johnny Cash poster, n'aww! And of course, the icing on the cake, RONON TACKLEGLOMPED JOHN! *dies* I squealed and promptly rewound. Five times. Eeeeeeeeee! I love so very very much.
And then Carson, with his wee misty eyes! Oh, darling! I wanted to smack Rodney for shutting him down. *sniff sniff*
And Elizabeth and John. Ohmyheart.
I was waiting for a brilliant John-Rodney goodbye scene, but THEN. Oh then. The PHONE CALL aslkfjsdlfkjsdfljk. COULD THEY BE ANY MORE BOYFRIENDS?! NO I DIDNT THINK SO. They didn't say goodbye because they didn't NEED to! They're never going to leave each other! *falls over with the love* The phone convo was so CUTE, with the "I don't want to use the word 'lonely,' but there are certain people that I miss." And John says, "Me?" with his "duh you LOVE me" face. And Rodney says "No of course not you, we're talking on the phone and GOING ON A DATE tomorrow!" *kerFLAIL* I just. The fact that they are seeking out each other's company/companionship through first a CALL and then DINNER (even if Carson was coming too) just speaks so many volumes. John's always going on about how grudging he is about admitting that he even likes Rodney ("I never thought I'd miss having Rodney McKay on my team" - I love that line, because he specifically bemoans the loss of Rodney, not anyone else!) but clearly it's just an act. He LOVES being around Rodney. They've become really close friendswith buttsecks on the side and it's so lovely to see. *happy happy sigh*
And on THAT note, ECHOES! *keyboardsmash* John and Rodney were SO CUTE in this!!! They never once left each other's side significantly through the whole ep - Rodney's like "I need to check out this bio lab!" and John's like "I'll come with you because we are attached at the hip!" and I die.
But my favorite, FAVORITE scene is when Rodney's telling John and Elizabeth about the "whale" info he found in the database, near the beginning. Rodney comes bounding up joyfully, brushing Liz off and saying he's looking for Sheppard. And then he's so gleeful about his information, and if you have the capability, watch that scene and just WATCH JOHN'S FACE. He has this look on his face like he's about to burst in to the widest, sunniest smile ever, and only the tightest self-control is holding it back. He looks affectionately amused by Rodney's adorableness. REALLY affectionately. Like he's just hugging Rodney with his eyes, and thinking "Yep, that's my boyfriend!" It's positively the CUTEST thing I have ever seen in my ENTIRE life. John's eyes are DANCING. I just. I could watch that scene a hundred times. Oh and also in that scene, John looks SO DISTURBED that Rodney named the whale after Samantha Carter. He's SO JEALOUS. And Rodney's bitchface when he says "Well Sam's a boys name too!" is priceless and strangely apropos, given another male with that name :D
Another awesome thing about this ep was Ronon and Teyla! They were so cute!! With him holding her hand by her sickbed, telling her to keep fighting, and he just looks so upset but keeping a brave face for her, and oh oh. And then the meditation lessons at the end, and him giving her the stick to whack him with. They're SO CUTE. *beams*
Basically, I'm SO IN LOVE GAH. I'm sad that I've only got about 8 eps left ahead of me. I NEVER WANT IT TO END.
