I just saw a super awesome commercial for Chevy! It had snippets of all these different songs that mention Chevies, along with people singing along and loving up on the appropriate cars, and one of them was Elton John's Crocodile Rock - "Had an old time Chevy and a place of my own" *sings and dances* And there was this guy CARESSING a dark grey 60's SS of some kind - probably a Camaro, maybe a Chevelle - at a classic car show and DAMN it was hot. I WANT A MUSCLE CAR!! *drools*

Speaking of cars, my not-so-hotass but still my own '99 Subaru Legacy gave me one hell of a time today. You may recall that her headlights are out. So I went to look at the manual to find where the fuse box is so I could check if a fuse was blown. I found the box under the hood (first time I've popped her hood! Aw) and located the right fuse. However, I couldn't check it without pulling it out, and for that I needed a fuse puller - which was located in the OTHER fuse box UNDER THE DASHBOARD. Which I needed a screw driver to get at. So I went over to Facilities and Operations to hopefully find a man to take pity on a hapless young girl with car woes. There was a really nice guy there who took a look, determined it was not the fuse, and posited that it was the bulbs, which somehow magically went out at the same time.

SO! I drove to Advance Auto Parts, bought two new bulbs, and REPLACED THEM MYSELF \o/ My hands got all filthy and everything, it was awesome. (God, I would love to know more about actually working with cars.) Then I tried the lights aaaaaand... still not working. The brights were still working, so I know I installed the bulbs correctly. Conclusion? it's an electrical problem and I need to take my car to the shop.

SIGH.

What this means is I can't drive home until Saturday, since I can't drive in the dark tomorrow. But that's okay, cause i'll spend the evening with my lovely Michelle and maybe Rob if he decides to stay, so it should be fun.

I need to name my car. Hmmmm.

And now time to watch an episode of SGA with commentary - yay!

First and only time I ever had a headlight go out on me was when I loaned the car to a friend so she could go to a concert and then she got pulled over for it. Fortunately, the cop was nice and didn't ticket her.

But I took the car to Autozone after that in the pouring rain the next day. After helping me find the right bulb, the guy took pity on this poor blonde girl and went outside and replaced it while I held an umbrella.

:):):)

being a girl does occassionally rock.

YAY Anne!

And dude, where do you live when you're not in Lancaster? Because I may feel the need to stalk you. Except not creepily.

*laughs* I live in Bridgeport, Connecticut. I am fully open to some non-creepy stalkerage, if you feel so inclined ;)

Putting aside my initial "Who the hell comes to Pennsylvania voluntarily as opposed to being born/having family here?"-ism, I guess I expected you to say Harrisburg (or Camp Hill or Mechanicsburg or Carlisle or any of those other cities pretending to be something other than a suburb of Harrisburg, and OMG can you tell where I live?) because I know of at least one kid in my graduating class who are probably going to end up at F&M. (I think his sister's a senior there now, actually... and two of his buddies are probably going, as well. But they're all good guys. They're in my AP Chem class.)

Also, I apologize for that being the worst sentence ever. :)

Oh honey, if F&M was made up entirely of Pennsylvania-ers, it would be profoundly boring. Now given, we're not all that geographically exotic as it is, but we're definitely a good enough school to pull in kids from all over. My best friends are from New Jersey and Connecticut, but I've got two other good friends from Texas and China, and I know people from Turkey, West Virginia, India, Ghana, and so on and so forth. I think I know maybe one person from Harrisburg ;)

And intellectually, I know that it's a small liberal arts college and it's a good friggen school, but it's just so close to where I am that it's hard for me to think of it that way, on account of my high school being such a wasteland. It's the same thing with Dickinson. (Although it's entirely possible that I know the person from Harrisburg... do you know what high school s/he went to?)

All I remember is some passing acquaintance mentioning they were from Harrisburg - sorry!
