A SQUEE and a meme

First, the squee.... I just found out that Michelle Rodriguez is now a full cast member of Lost!!!! YAY!!! I love her SO GREATLY, and Lost is my favorite current show, and it's just so funny that they cast her! YAY SO HAPPY! SQUEE! I just might become a Jack/Ana Lucia shipper now! LOL sorry Kate ;)

And this is that six song meme floating around, no one's tagged me so I just thought I'd go and do it. Download the songs, seriously, they're so worth it!

Hands down my favorite song of the moment. It's from the end of Garden State. It's just so haunting and different and intoxicating. The lyrics are very unique and intriguing and SO GOOD. It has my favorite line ever... "It's alright cause there's BEAUTY IN THE BREAKDOWN." Guh. Plus it lands right in my voice range so it's great to sing along to ^_^

2. Ghost of a Good Thing - Dashboard Confessional
I guess it's luck but it's the same

Maybe it's love but it's like you said
Love is like a role that we play.

I've been listening to Dashboard confessional like, nonstop for a while now. And this is my favorite song of theirs. It's very simple, mostly a guy singing and a guitar, but I love the rhythms and, again, the lyrics. Lyrics are fundamental to my prolonged enjoyment of music... it has to make me think.

3. Such Great Heights - The Postal Service
I am thinking it's a sign
That the freckles in our eyes are mirror images and when we kiss they're perfectly aligned
And I have to speculate
That God himself did make us into corresponding shapes like puzzle pieces from the clay.

I found this song as the music to a Brian/Justin music vid done by f1renze (which is fabulous, by the way, go check it out at her site!) and just fell in love with it. It's upbeat and has great lyrics (duh) and I don't know I just like it a lot :)

Ok so this song is rather different... it's slow and melancholy. But again with agh such good lyrics. So good, in fact, that I'm making a music video to it, of Faith and her betrayal by Buffy and her conflicting guilt and sense of self-hatred. I'll shut up now. But that's what the song's like, dark and bitter but so beautiful and musical. The melody is lovely, and so is the instrumental, driven by a harsh, intense downbeat that doesn't stop through the entire song. It's really conducive to contrasting fluidity with sudden and shocking cuts... okay I said I'd shut up about the vid. Sorry ^_^ Oh and this is a Queer as Folk song, yay.

5. Hide - K's Choice
Watch me, I'm coming closer
I am the mood you're in tonight
Pretty poser
Perfect armageddon bride

This was the first song I ever heard by K's choice (also in a music vid, which is where I find a lot of my music) and it's just... addicting. I have no idea why. It's one of their faster songs, and yet it's still pretty laid back. Some very cool guitar stuff in there. I don't know. I love this band, check them out!

Ah yes Frou Frou. These are the only two songs of theirs I know (see Let Go, above) but I love them both, so I'm thinking I should find more. It's just so lovely and musical and peaceful but still driven by a strong beat. I love the singer's voice. Oh just download it ^_^

OH OH AND the singer of Frou Frou is Imogen Heap, who has a bunch of solo work too WHICH ALSO ROCKS.

Ooooh that's cool. You know I couldn't decide whether the singer on Let Go was a man or a woman... o.O I don't know, I'm weird. I should find more of their stuff.
