"Planes crash!" "Well apparently CLOWNS KILL!" HEEEEE.
So that whole beginning? EVERY SINGLE POST-DEVIL'S TRAP FIC I EVER READ. With the car fixing and the staying at Bobby's and Dean's emotional constipation and the friction between the boys and Sam watching while Dean fixes the car becaue he has no idea what to DO. Either Kripke does nothing but read fanfic 24/7, or we just ROCK at interpreting/predicting the boys' behavior. Both, I am tending towards :D
Jared is totally rocking my *socks*. I mean really. Jensen too, obviously, but now the playing field is essentially level, I think, and it's just so incredible seeing them bounce off each other. The pyre scene... god, Sam's inability to speak through his tears... broke my little HEART. And Dean's face, so blank and mask-like - oh Jensen, oh Jensen.
Sam's spoken reason for not going back to school is so wrong - obviously he is completely unwilling to leave Dean alone.
Jo doesn't make me want to throw things. She's mildly irritating, but also mildly entertaining - I particularly liked the punch. Dean's attempted pick up felt forced and awkward, but obviously that was intended - Dean's completely off his game. Trying to get back into his old habits and failing rather miserably.
That pulled back shot of them walking through that field - so stunning. And the pain and emotional layers of that conversation - I need to watch it like 10 more times to really process it. Ouch.
Is it just me or was the plot resolved FAR TOO FAST? Like, just completely out of the blue. Hm.
I kept yelling at the screen for Dean to throw some knives - we know Jensen can!!!! Why else would they have put that in??
Okay I take it back, I don't really like Jo at all. No chemistry. Oh well!
I HOWEVER LOVE ASH. The mullett comment - best ever! And "it's a school in Boston". HEEEE. It's Jesse from Fast and the Furious! *loves so hard*
Ellen felt like a watered-down Lena Olin, who should totally have played her by the way.
God. The end. I just... well, for one thing GO SAMMY. Yes yes yes to everything he said. And oh God, Dean BREAKING and punishing the Impala and oh God oh God. *clutches at heart* I can't even.
Perhaps more thoughts when I've rewatched it.
The promo for next week looks AWESOME. Liek whoa.
I love our SHOWWWW.
ETA: I also LOVE that there is a FANBOY in my choir!!! Before choir started, I overheard him exclaim, "OH MY GOD I FORGOT TO TAPE SMALLVILLE!!" I sporfled to myself and listened in as he angsted to his friend. I was endlessly amused. Then after choir I bumped into him and was like "So I overheard that you like Smallville!" and he reiterated his angst about missing it, hee. So I said "What else do you like to watch?" and he kinda fumbled for words, and was like "Oh man I always talk about my shows but when someone asks me I can never remember!" CUTEST EVER. Omg. *squishes him to chest* I totally need to facebook stalk him, which may be difficult since I DONT KNOW HIS NAME. Oops? Oh well, FANBOY! \o/

Date: 2006-10-06 02:33 am (UTC)As soon as I saw the knives I was like "GO JENSEN GO!!" why would they put that in there to tease us?
Also? Watered-down Lena Olin? Heeheheh. Totally.

Date: 2006-10-06 02:38 am (UTC)Okay, I don't like clowns and that thing was fucking creepy. *Shudders and locks door*
Ash is teh shit. Not even kidding. That mullet is redunkulous. It could rival Billy Ray Cyrus's. And probably win.
The end at Bobby's? I watched, jaw on the floor, as Dean fucking smashed that window and beat the crap out of the Impala. I was in shock, and wanted to just hug Dean until he started quipping again. Not that there weren't a few good moments in this. But God. Teh angst.
I did thank you for making me watch this, right?

Date: 2006-10-06 04:52 am (UTC)Oh, God, I really hadn't thought of it like this. The Impala is Dean's lady, but maybe he thinks she's failed him somehow, couldn't keep Dad and Sammy safe from the crash. Except they all survived the crash, just not the demon. I hope the Impala forgives him (but after he grovels first).

Date: 2006-10-06 05:36 am (UTC)I, however, am in a current emotional stage of denial. So much like Dean, I am unable to deal with my emotions and grief regarding John and the now Emo-Brothers-Winchester and therefore must deal with it through sarcasm.
Honestly, it will be at least two more weeks before I can fully grasp the pain. It took me 3 years to emotionally come to terms that Buffy was no longer on the air, so as you can see, I'm big with emotional denial when it comes to my fandoms. Hell, I'm still not over the series finale of Angel. LOL.

Date: 2006-10-07 07:30 am (UTC)And I definitely agree about the plot being resolved too fast for my liking. It could have used a bit more closure, but at least we got extra angst out of it! :D
And we NEEDED Dean to chuck some knives! That would have probably caused half the fandom to combust, though . . .
All in all, great episode! Though I'm still scared of clowns. *shivers*
