I went wedding dress shopping with my mom this afternoon. It was pretty fun - she found a really nice one that looks beautiful on her, and it was on really good sale, so that was good. My sister and I also got our bridesmaid dresses - here's mine and hers is the little girl version. It's really beautiful, I like it a lot. My mom's going to hold red roses to match, while my sister and I hold white roses, and it'll be really pretty.

The best part of the dress shopping, however, was the radio station, which seemed to be tuned to "Bandom" - they played Arms Race, Teenagers, Thnks Fr Th Mmrs, and Misery Business. It was AWESOME. My sister and I just laughed every time a new one came on and sang along happily \o/

I did that career meme, and number 1 was an oceanographer, lol, what? Most of my choices were engineers of some kind, though 8 was a chemist, so hurrah. 7 was a tailor though, which, wtf? Haha.

I LEAVE FOR DUBLIN IN FIVE DAYS. WHAT? WHAT? NO SERIOUSLY. *minorly panicking* I sort of started the packing nonsense. I tried out those vacuum packing bags, and they're not nearly as miraculous as the infomercial makes them out to be, lol. But still, they definitely make things a lot more manageable. I also had to figure out what DVDs I was bringing with me. I decided to take the TV seasons out of their boxes and put them in my big DVD booklet, which makes me sadfaced because the boxes are so pretty, AND they have the episode guides. Sigh. But they're too bulky so, you know. I ended up being able to fit most of the essential stuff in there, though I had to choose just one season of Angel and two of Buffy. My Atlantis DVDs are still with my cousins, who wanted to burn them, which just makes me sad in my face :( But I'll be buying S3 on Tuesday, HURRAH, so that will make up for it.

FIVE. DAYS. *flail*

(The biggest obstacle is leaving my father at the airport. I'm going to cry so hard, I know it, and I'll be in public too.)

I didn't actually get to try on my size, because they only had an EIGHT and I'm a freaking fourteen, so I only got a vague sense of what it will look like, but it's got this really nice ribbing up the bodice that gives it a really great shape, and yeah. I just love how it falls. Thank you!

Oooh! Pretty!

I know what you mean about freaking out, I've got 20 days to go and I'm writing lists of what I want to take. At this rate I think my suitcase will be weighing 30kg before I leave! Meep!

(The biggest obstacle is leaving my father at the airport. I'm going to cry so hard, I know it, and I'll be in public too.)

*hugs* It's awful, isn't it? You are going on this HUGE adventure and you want everyone to come with you too. Who cares if you cry in public? You wont see those people again so cry all you damn well like, I say!

In other news, I'LL HAVE AN ANNE IN ONE MONTH AND TWO DAYS! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!! *happydances all around the room*

Those dresses are beautiful!

And also, I suspect I'm a shitty lj friend, or it was mentioned before we became friends, but why are you going to Dublin/how long are you going to be there for?

My sister and I went to Europe this summer, and our longest layover was a seven-that-turned-into-eight hour one in the Dublin airport. It's very nice!

Thank you!

*laughs* No worries, I forget things all the time, and it's more than likely I only really talked about it before we became friends. I'm going to be studying abroad this year at Trinity College Dublin, and I'll be there until June! Eep!

Hee, that's good to hear! Well, the nice part, not the longass layover!

A close friend of mine from high school went there. I'm sure you'll have a good time!

EEE. So exciting. About weddings and Irelands and all other things. I'd be the same - goodbyes are always hard! But I'm sure you'll talk to all of your family loads and it won't be too long before you see them again! Are you going home for christmas? And I will so totally mail you more than the big 0 that I've sent already ;) ♥

Exciting and crayzee! *flails* But dude, you and I have to meet up, like, SOON, cause I want to see you so badly! We'll have such a blast! :D And yes, I'm going home for Christmas, but mostly because the wedding is the week after! haha. My mom planned it so I'd be able to come home for the wedding.

Oh wow, that dress is absolutely gorgeous. Bridesmaid dresses can be a bitch to look for, and some people have to settle for less than stellar, but that is honestly one of the prettiest dresses I've ever seen.

And good luck in Dublin! I hope you have fun and like it and all of that good stuff. Leaving parents at the airport sucks, so I decided to screw it and cry as much as I wanted to. Which was a lot, so.

Thank you so much! They only had about three styles that they had in both adult and children's sizes, so our choices were pretty limited, and we really liked that one right away. I'm excited to get mine! (We had to order it, obviously)

Gah, thank you! I'm sure I'm going to love it, I'm just freaking out for the time being. I'm just gonna be a wreck when I leave my dad, I know it. :-/ Good to know I'm not the only one!

Hello, and welcome to my journal! :) BDS and Farscape are both awesome, but I will warn you, I don't talk about them at all anymore! Right now you'll be getting a whole lot of bandom with a dose of my real life, but I guess you can guess that from looking at my journal *g*

Thank you! I am so excited to go to Ireland, it seems like such an amazing place. I hope I'll be able to handle being so far away from home for so long - I think I can, but who knows!
