I don't know if this is an accident, or if it will be gone really soon, but it looks like most of TAI's new album is up streaming at this link. Including "After the Last Midtown Show", hee! Oh my god you guys, I'm LOVING this shit. I've had this tab open for days to listen to Rumored Nights on repeat, and this morning I found it filled with 9 songs! :D

ETA: Seriously I'm LOVING this album. It's the most awesomest bday present ever! THANKS BILLIAM!

On another note, I think i made a huge mistake by engaging with that idiot on patd who made Ryan and Brendon hold "Ryden exists" signs. Now I'm going to get attacked by all the other commenters and want to hide in a hole and die. But seriously, she's being so entitled and selfish and I just had to inject some SENSE into the fucking place. I know, a completely misguided notion. I hope you'll all miss me when rabid Panic teenies storm my house and rip me apart with their teeth :-/

The whole picture/sign thing makes me so embarrassed for the fandom as a whole AND for the poor guys in the band. It's just uncomfortable, NOT in any way funny. Just...awkward.

I want to smack those girls. What the hell were they thinking? If the guys hadn't posed, they would have bitched and moaned about how evil they were and that the fact that they didn't want to take a picture with the signs only confirmed that they were fucking.

And didn't they say in the last post that Zack asked them not to share the pictures? Not to spread them around? The girl who got to meet the guys and hang out with them as a roadie for a day, has been really good about not sharing stuff. Sure it would be great to see her pictures but I respect the fact that she's honoring Zack's wishes.

It's fun to speculate and fantasize but I don't actually believe that Ryan and Brendon have this torrid love affair. I think some of the fangirls do. That's why they hate Keltie so much, because they see her as a threat. It's kind of scary.

And the thing is, even if I did believe they were screwing like bunnies, I would never make them hold a sign that had anything to do with their "relationship."

I feel like similar things have happened (and continue to happen) in the QAF fandom. This is why these people are scared of the fans as a whole.

I'm really proud of you for saying something. I read the original post where they posted the thumbnails, and I thought it was kinda adorable in a teenie way until I got to the point with the signs. It made me feel horribly embarrassed, because I think the boys try so hard to be accomodating to fans, and then people have to do something which is, imo, creepy and most definitely breaking the fourth wall. And then to post the fullsizes after Zack specifically requested they didn't? Even creepier. I'm pretty sure he's added them to his list and there's no way they'll be getting near the boys again.

Don't be disheartened by any shitty comments you get about this, because patd is, and always will be, a comm for teenies, many of whom lack complete common sense and seem to forget that these boys are a) real and b) not there for our amusement. They have feelings and I know that if someone made me hold up a sign implying I was having sex with one of my best friends and that thousands of people were reading about it on a daily basis? I would feel mortified. But I would go along with it purely because any negative reaction would result in an overblown reaction by the people making the request, and sometimes, for a quiet life, it's easier just to go along with it.

I know I'm a PanicWife and overly protective of them, but these sort of things in relation to Panic annoy me a ridiculous amount. Because they are boys who are not only unimpressed with the existence of fanfic (Ryan has definitely said he doesn't like it, and I suspect Jon has said something similar?) but they don't seek it out. They don't try and breach the 4th wall the way that the Cobras and Pete and (possibly) TomRad do. They separate themselves from that part of fandom, and for us to bring it to them is most definitely crossing a line. I hate that some Panic fans are downright creepy- with the Ryden exists stuff, with the hair baked in cookies, with the hating on Keltie- because it means they're bound to tar us all with the same brush, and it makes me sad that, imo, they're pretty much always going to be a little on edge around fans, waiting for the crazy to show. They deserve better than that, because they make so many of us happy.

Ugh, I was not around when this happened but I've seen two reaction posts on my flist already. I defriended patd a while ago. I had it because I figured it would be a good source of info but I can get that from the rest of the hivemind, really. I make a point of ignoring that community because I KNOW it's full of complete asshats. I can't understand how people can be so utterly stupid. Common sense! Oh my god!

The Brendon & Ryan & Spencer & Jon in my mind (that have sexytimes in various combinations with one another and with other bands!) are separate from the REAL Brendon & Ryan & Spencer & Jon, and I am totally happy that Keltie makes Ryan smile and that Jon and Cassie are completely adorkable.

You are totally right about the fact that those girls kinda represent fandom/fangirls as a whole, and it makes all of us look bad. Like fans asking Jared or Jensen about fanfic (and they're obviously uncomfortable with it. Or what came up on my music earlier -- I have the clip from whatever con last year where Jensen sang with Jason Manns and they were like "we don't want to see any pics online with little innuendos on them, we're just sharing a microphone" and they were uncomfortable with the position that fangirls/fandom put them in, and it kinda makes my heart hurt.)

Someone needed to say it, and I'm glad you did. I promise to help protect you from the rapid teenies.

Meg just linked me to that whole patd fiasco. I couldn't read most of it because my embarrassment squick is so strong, but I did read your comments. I don't think you made a mistake at all and I'm just glad someone said it. I love Brendon/Ryan as much (sometimes it feels like more) as the next fangirl, but that kind of entitled behavior that shoves it in their faces grosses me out SO MUCH. Thanks for saying something and for being so levelheaded and articulate about it. I'm sorry you got attacked for it.
