So apparently going running while recovering from whooping cough is not the best idea. I came this close to puking on the sidewalk.

Oops.

(It doesn't help that I am woefully out of shape, which is mostly BECAUSE of the damn whooping cough. Argh.)

Other than that, today was quite nice. My chemistry went beautifully, for once, and I'm crossing my fingers that tomorrow will go as smoothly.

I am SO glad to see Atlantis back on TV...this season promises to be a good one. I've only caught one major spoiler for the mid-season two parter, but other than that I'm pretty much clueless (which is how I like it).

Next month - Jewel Staite and David Nykl! I may take my S4 DVDs to Dragon*Con to see if they'll sign them.

I know I know! It makes my summer so much more SHINY! (Now to find somewhere to watch it... we don't have cable! /o\) I haven't been spoiled at ALL, except by David Hewlett and his big mouth rambling about one of his favorite eps of the season, but the spoilers are SO EXCITING that I don't care. Eeeee!

Okay, so, this story ROCKS ALL EVERYTHING ANYWHERE OH MY.

She's written both John and Rodney's PoVs for the entire story, so you pick one, read it, then go back and pick the other. Her advice:

If you like a bit of mystery, choose Rodney's Point of View (25,000 words).
If you like dramatic irony, choose John's Point of View (33,000 words).

There's also a version where you can switch by scene, but I strongly recommend reading it in one character's PoV all the way through, first.

Eeeee, yay! I don't have any more icons because, um, bandom ate my brain, but yes, HHr is looove! PoA the movie is my favorite, I watch and just chinhand and sigh. So darling. THAT'S what I want to have in a relationship, a best friend whom I trust and love and all that whatnot.

Ooooh, this is so exciting! I can't believe such a major writer passed me by, I spent about two months last year just plowing through every major SGA author I could find. Thank you so much, I am really excited to sink my teeth in! :D

Hee! PoA is my favorite as well (and god it makes for the best icons, the coloring of that movie... mmmm)! I have to laugh about the last comment only because I realized earlier this year that (ugh this is so sappy, I get teary-eyed thinking about it *facepalm*) my husband really IS my best friend, and okay, like... he is Rodney lite, with a generous side of David, if that makes any sense. He's SUPER smart, intimidatingly so, and he doesn't waste time on social graces though he's gotten a lot better on that score. Plus, body type is VERY similar as well, heh. So when I realized that yes, I really DO have that (only took me ten years to figure it out, go me!), I was just blown away, because really, really unexpected.

I have a video rec for you that's H/Hr if you haven't seen it. It's the one that converted me utterly and completely to that ship. To the tune of 'Dirty Little Secret.'



As for SGA authors, hee! I have more happy for you...
Seperis's list of recs is where I found a ton of the stories/authors I really, really enjoy reading.

The other rec list that I SWEAR BY is by iamtheenemy on her website. It's categorized by level of favorite, so there's all-time personal favorites, then highly recommendeds, then A-Z recs. Find it here. I don't know what your preferences are in regards to stories but this list is mostly McShep and I found that I agreed with the reccer on their level of favorite about 95% of the time. They also warn for when things might not be as well written at the beginning or end but the story is worth reading, or whether something looks like a deathfic but isn't, stuff like that. I trust them like woah.
