Info about the peaceful protesters being arrested, tear-gassed, and beaten by police in St. Paul at the RNC.

I read that with a disorienting sense of detachment, because it doesn't feel possible that that is actually occurring in the United States of America. It's fascism.

I am so numb and horrified.

That is beyond insane and f'ed up. You know, I told my parents about this, and my Dad (who thinks Obama's a "American hating Mulism") yelled at me. He said, "It was just at the DNC. You're saying the Dems. are so Godly and great." (I'd already mentioned similar things happening at the DNC) The man yelled and said he won't believe a word I said until I had "creditable" sources. And the sad thing is, many people think the same way he does around here.
