Finally getting this post up! I made all of these the week before last, while I was on vacation with my cousins. I had almost no internet, and some free time, so I iconned! It was very conducive to creativity, actually. One thing I tried out was mini animated icons... they're very plain, simply the clips shrunk down to below 40k, but some of them are cute, I think. You also might notice a distinctly Ewan flavor :D Here's what's in this bunch:
[6] Serenity (all animated from trailer)
[3] Harry Potter
[2] Queer as Folk (B/J)
[2] Life as a House (Hayden christensen as Sam)
[1] Moulin Rouge
[1] Young Adam
[6] Velvet Goldmine
[7] Ewan McGregor
[26] Star Wars (mostly animated, lightsaber training etc. Also some Ani/Obi)
[1] The X-Files
[1] Personalized for a friend

Date: 2005-08-19 07:11 am (UTC)Mmmm...Ewan! Is it sad that one of the things I love the most about him is how much he loves his family? When I saw the end of The Long Way Round and Eve was there to welcome him...Guh!! And that kiss...*sighs* Lucky woman.
Sad to say I don't own Velvet Goldmine so it's been a long time since I saw it. Like years, and I only saw it the once. But I remember loving the hell out of it, I just couldn't find it in any of the stores near here and just recently got the ability to buy online. And now I lack the money to afford it but...soon, soon my precious! And will also be getting the Pillow Book soon since the Barnes and Noble near me just started carrying it.
Actually, I think Velvet Goldmine may well have been the first Ewan movie I saw. I'd always wanted to check him out since I had seen several that looked intriguing, mainly Trainspotting and the Pillow Book. But yes, I do believe that was my first Ewan movie. Really need to get the DVD.
And I should be the one apologizing for babbling, it is, after all, your journal. LOL
Btw, friended you, hope you don't mind. :-D

Date: 2005-08-19 07:30 am (UTC)I have not seen LWR and it PAINS ME. I've seen various clips, but I want it sooooo badly. I think I might have to order it from the UK sometime, just because... OMG EWAN! Haha. I mean, six episodes of just Ewan being Ewan? That's like... gold. Seriously.
Oh dear, you really should buy VG as soon as you can. It wasn't the first movie I saw with him in it by any means (that honor goes to The Phantom Menace, but the first movie I really noticed him in was Moulin Rouge, and became a fangirl of his after Revenge of the Sith) but it's the one I've seen the most times! I bought it without having seen it, and immediately just fell head over heels. I watched it just yesterday, actually. I'm not keeping track, but that's at least 7 or 8 times in a month. :D It's so damn good!
The Pillow Book is another one I absolutely LOVED. It was so out there and different, yet I was truly riveted the entire time. I'm considering buying that, because I rented it and watched it at like 2 AM, when my mom was sleeping, so the volume was way down and I didn't get to rewatch any parts. So. I'll probably at least rent it again.
No, no, no apologies needed :) I looove long talks about Ewan, he makes me happy :D
course I dont! Friended you back!

Date: 2005-08-19 07:56 am (UTC)OMG! You have not seen LWR? So very worth it...I'll say no more on it else I'll spoil it. ;-)
Ewan is the only thing keeping me buying the Star Wars DVD's. But I haven't seen the new one yet and I hear it is much better then the first two so my faith in that verse might be restored by more then Ewan's amazing portrayal of young Obi Wan. I can not get over how well he slipped into Alec Guinness' robes and made the role his own.
Actually, I think all the actors have done amazing jobs, my problems with the prequels are all about the writing. But one must bear in mind that I'm 39, so I saw the original trilogy when they first came out and they were my first fandom. So the prequels have to compete with the originals completely irrational fannish hold of me.
MR was a no brainer for me to love since I adored Baz' Strictly Ballroom and have a serious musical weakness. But Ewan having such a phenomenal voice really sold it. And the pretty doesn't hurt.
I still haven't seen the Pillow Book, I'll be buying it based solely on long ago previews and fan testimonials...and EWAN! :-D

Date: 2005-08-19 03:11 pm (UTC)Yes, I know what you mean. The first two Star Wars prequels... not fantastic. I haven't rewatched Aotc since I became a fan of Ewan, which I'm planning on, but TPM was like... not great, and yet Ewan was, Ewan! Liam was great tho. However, RotS is a GREAT movie, in my opinion. Still dialogue issues, obviously, but Ewan? Amazing? Hayden? Really quite good! It's definitely a must see.
George Lucas needs to hire a screenwriter >.<
Ewan does have a lovely voice! Do you like Baz's Romeo + Juliet? I think it's excellent. I haven't seen Strictly Ballroom though, I should!
EWAN! ;)

Date: 2005-08-19 09:44 pm (UTC)I've not seen Romeo + Juliet all the way through yet, tried watching it a few times but not a big Leo fan and that one the "hook" was them speaking in Shakespearian dialog which is not a weakness of mine like dancing (Strictly Ballrooms hook) or singing.
I need to just go ahead and rent it because I've only tried watching it when it was on TV and I get distracted too easily. If I could watch it without commercials I could probably stick with it long enough to get into it. :-D
