I'm not quite sure how this wonderful boy has flown under my radar (okay, I am - he hasn't been on TV. More's the pity!) but now that has been rectified and I have fallen very rapidly completely head over heels. My new boyfriend is named Matthew Goode.

This is the best picture I can find that really gives a sense of what he looks like as Adrian (as opposed to Ozymandias). It's so hard to reconcile this with the cute tousled guy from the pictures above! I looove the blonde though.

In this one he apparently gets bloody and points guns at Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Hot.


Another look for which it would be hard to recognize him! (JGL meanwhile looks sculpted of plastic. Lay off the Photoshop, dudes!)

I'll finish this off with the interview I linked yesterday. He's hilarious and charming and wonderful. If you haven't seen Watchmen (or read the book), you should stop when he says "Watchmen" because he gives a pretty massive spoiler, but everything up to there is vastly entertaining.

ETA: Alright, I can't NOT link this video. The Watchmen cast is adorable, and Matthew appears to be quite a crude troublemaker. ADORABLE. He mentions his morning wood, and says that Malin walked around smelling like a used condom because the lube they put on her to get into her costume. HAHAHA.

Yay new boyfriend! I need a new one, since now Ewan McGregor is doing tripe like Michael Bay films and ANGELS AND DEMONS. I can't tell you how dismayed I was when I saw him in the trailer before Watchmen. Sigh, Ewan :( What happened? Whatever, I'm replacing you with a younger model who hopefully won't trod all over my heart by choosing shite roles.

ETA: ALKFJSDLFJKSDKL MATTHEW'S NEXT ROLE IS AS AN IRISH GUY IN A FILM SET IN DUBLIN. OMG. BOYFRIEND OF MY HEART ♥______♥ It's called Leap Year, with Amy Adams, who is ADORABLE. YAY.

he's quite well-known in britain! i think i first saw him in Chasing Liberty and developed a massive crush. i've also seen Match Point, Brideshead Revisited, The Lookout, and another movie he did called Imagine Me & You with the girl from Coyote Ugly. but i haven't seen Watchmen yet :(! he's definitely very talented. you should definitely check out Brideshead because i think that's been his biggest role (and the movie is allllll him!)

I was just gonna suggest that you watch the Unscripted Watchmen interview, but I see you linked it, so!

He really makes me LOL. Apparently a lot of Watchmen fans (admittedly myself included) were a bit skeptical of his performance, but he was quoted as saying "If they don't like it, they can suck my dick" to which I LOL'd a great deal. So yeah, he's certainly the most entertaining person in that cast!

Are you still skeptical of his performance, having seen it? Admittedly he is not the most likely choice... in any way, but I thought he did a really amazing job. Then again I wasn't holding him up to any prior standard. But regardless of talent, he is indeed beautiful and hilarious, and what can I say, I'm easy :D

Well, I've come to the conclusion that because I knew Adrian was the "bad guy" I probably watched the movie with that bias and felt that Matthew played Adrian a little too shifty. But the friend that I went with didn't think so (she's never read the graphic novel) and I've heard from other Watchmen fans on my F-List that went with people who had no prior knowledge about the novel and those friends didn't find him suspicious either. So I'm pretty sure it's just me watching him under a microscope and picking up on shifty things since I knew the twist. But I didn't feel like he did a bad job in the slightest, it just didn't correlate with how I perceived novel!Adrian. I'm getting used to him, though. Plus, like you said, he's a funny scallywag in real life and I totally love those types too. ;)

Ahh, I can definitely see that. I mean, I never suspected him at all, so without knowing the twist, yeah, he did fine. I particularly loved how his accent took on a hint of German when he was around his friends. (And he's really good at accents, damn! I would have NEVER guessed he was British.) Having looked through some of his scenes in the novel though (my friend lent me a copy) I can totally see how he doesn't really fit the book's image much at all. I'm not complaining though - I love my boys pretty instead of beefy, hee.

No, let me say this, HE IS PHENOMENAL in The Lookout!!! It's his BEST role (tied with Watchmen)!!!

And his second best is in Brideshead Revisited. That's in my top fav. films. LOVE IT!

And, he's GREAT in Match Point. He adds such presence to the film.
