Aug. 28th, 2005 10:30 amOkay, so, updating you all on my status...
I like college so far. I'm not ecstatic like OMGILOVEIT yet, but I am enjoying myself. I am as antisocial as ever, however, preferring hanging out in my room and reading (or talking to you lovely people) than going to a karaoke night (just as a random example... :P). I mean, I don't really have an issue with that, I'll meet people in my own time (probably through classes and clubs, etc) but I think my roommate finds it a little strange. Oh well.
I have not yet hung up my posters. I just feel a little weird about it. Erm. I will do it at some point, I promise.
Yesterday we had this crazy orientation thing called Making connections. I was not sure what it was gonna be like, but it turned out to be kinda cool, if a bit wacky. First they had all the freshman walk into the gym, forming two lines that the rest would walk through and then add on to (if that makes sense). Then everyone grabbed hands and ran around the gym, crazy fast, it was really intense (and tiring!) lol. Then there were a whole bunch of different activities... there was a guy on a mic shouting out instructions. One thing was that you had to find all the people with the same birth month as fast as you could. One time we had to jump up, put one of our fists in the air, and then find two other people with the same fist up... talk to them, introduce yourself, etc. There were a bunch of things that got us into various little groups. I heard SO many names and remember maybe 3 or 4. But it was fun. Exhausting, as well.
I woke up rather earlier than I meant to, cause my roommate got up and made a loud noise on her way out to the shower, but it's okay because it's good for me to keep my schedule like waking up at a normal time. I have brunch in a couple hours, then the jam packed day of more orientation begins!
*gives out hugs*
